Hi Guys, How are you today, I hope everybody in good condition, healthy and happy. I want to tell you story about my staycation at Sukasantai. Sukasantai is a farmstay, it has farms with a lot of kind of organic vegetables and some cute animals like cows, goats, buffalo, and chickens. So we can stay there, sleep and enjoy our little vacation anf they will serve us with food from their own farm, the concept is farm-to-table dining where we can nourish our body with home cooked meals, harvested from sukasantai organically grown garden.
Location
Sukasantai is located at Sukabumi, West Java. You can read in their blog how to get there, please follow that guide, it says we need to follow google maps, but we somehow we used another maps and got lost to nowhere with so bumpy road and gave damage to our car, there something wrong with the tire. Fortunately we arrived at Sukasantai safely and soundly. Me and my friends begin our trip at 6 am and arrive around 9.30 am , 3,5 hours from Jakarta to Sukasantai, but i think if we didn’t take the wrong way, we can get there earlier, maybe around 2,5 hours. So please read their explanation in their blog and use google maps.
Sukasantai is located in a small village and it has a cool and comfortable temperature, the air is so fresh, the sky is so blue, and the breeze is refreshing, even in the afternoon I don’t feel hot or sweat. At the night and early morning , the temperature is around 15-18 degree so we need bring jacket or sweater.

Rate
You can check the rate here , I think thei rates is differest mechanism with other hotel, usually we pay for a room , but in sukasantai they charge it per person. We pay 750K IDR for each person + 10% tax, I stay with 3 of my friend , total 4 person and we stay for 2 night, so in total we pay 6,6 juta rupiah. At first I think that this is quite expensive, but we will get 3x meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), free flow drinck (tea, coffee, milo, jamu, and many more) and snack. We also can enjoy farm activities like cow milking.
Room & How to Book
They have 12 unique room, there are romm for 2 person and there are room for 4 person . You can check their room type here and choose what room do you want based on your need. Me and my friend sleep at Leunca (King Room) and Tomat (Twin room). They provide towels , soap and shampoo, but no toothpaste and toothbrush. Why? because they is support eco-friendly, and they don’t want to provide us toothbrush that will be throw away after we check out, so please bring your own. There is no TV and wifi at the room. They only have wifi at their common area. There is also no fan and AC at the room, but i believe we don’t need that because the room is not hot at all even at the afternoon.
Sukasantai is open by reservation only and they do not accept walk-in guests. You can book the room via whatsapp at this number (+62) 822 49984849 . They will asked 50% down payment first and they will ask for the rest a week before our visit. the payment can be made by bank transfer.
My Story when I stayed there
We stay there at new normal era, so sukasantai run their hotel with health protocol such as measure our body temperature everybody need to use mask, the chef and kitchen helper use mask , face shield, and latex gloves to make sure they make the food hygiene. Sukasantai also only accept 50% from their capacities, so max 20 guests at one time. When I stayed there, there are 3group including us, 1st group are us consisting of 4 people, 2nd group are family consisting with 6 people (2 couples, 1 grandma, and 1 kid), and the last group consisting of 8 people stay at villa so they don’t eat at the dining area with us and monstly spent their time at the villa.
So, we arrived around 9.30 am, but check in time is in 12PM and checkout is 10 am. So we can not early check in at that time, so we chill near the dining area, enjoy the view and the breeze. But we woke up too early and become hungry, we bring some indomie, but the kitchen is occupied by their chef maybe prepare for lunch, so we think we can not use the kitche to cook our indomie. Then one of my friend, Miss Pepz , went to the chef and tell him that we are hungry. And the chef is so kind, do you want to eat? I can cook for you, and then he served us salad and pasta to us. Because we stay for 2 nights, we should get 6x meals, but because of this brunch in total we got 7x meals and they didn’t ask for additional charge for that meals. At the night around 9pm, we are hungry (again) and want to cook Indomie, and the chef gave us free eggs, they also gave us free fresh milk in the morning even tough for milk actually we need to pay 15K IDR for 500ml. But they gave us for free and said to us that if you take away the milk you need to pay but if you drink here is free. I like free stuff, so the price is quite expensive but the service is so good, the staff is so nice and friendly. so I think it is worth to pay 750K per night here.
As I said before, because we took the wrong way to get here , we got damage in our car, we need to change our tire for our safety way back home. Their staff once again is very very kind and helpful, they help us to change the tire, and unfortunately our spare tire is flat, and of course they don’t have tools to pump car tire, and you know what, they bring bicycle pump, and there are 3 guys take turns to help us pump our car tire with that bicycle pump, can you imagine it. So so so grateful to have them helping us there.
This is our first Lunch, they server as 4 menus and it is omakase style, so we don’t know what they will cook for us. But mostly their food is delicious and they alse use fresh veggie so it is healthy. Not all of food they made is suitable to my palate, but overall it is okay and some of them is so delicious and of course is healthy.
So, the conclusion is Sukasantai is great place to escape from city and we can just relax and enjoy nature. Get away from your phones and be immersed in nature. Breathe in the fresh air and get lazy. we don’t have to worry about the food because they will provide it to you , we can do anything we want to recharge our battery, being lazy sometime is good I think and enjoy the moment with your friend without phone or social media. As a person that live in busy city like Jakarta with so many things to do in my daily life , a lot of work, vacation like this, just stay and do nothing is quite good and great.
So if you need a place to escape the busy city you can find the calmness here at Sukasantai. it is worthy and I love it.
