Jakpod Hotel, Hotel Kapsul Murah , Jakarta

Ok, this time I want to review Jakpod Hotel, Capsule Hotel in Jakarta. I have slept in capsule hotel before, when I went to Penang, you can check my review TIME CAPSULE HOTEL @ PENANG . So, out of nowhere, My friend want to experience something new, she want to have staycation but with no budget. SAD . So we search some budget hotel in Jakarta, and find this capsule hotel, and my friend never sleep in capsule hotel before, so she want to try it so bad. Me as a good friend and also as person who want to have something new for my weekend and for this blog, I said let’s go. So in friday we booked it via Traveloka and in Saturday we come to hotel and enjoy our budget staycation inside the capsule.

Okay, My check in experience. It’s easy to check in you just need to prepare ID Card, no need deposit money or credit card. We will get a card for our capsule, this card will be used to open the door in the room, open the locker and of course to open and turn on the capsule. In that card we can find wifi password and mobile phone number of receptionist, if we want to ask or report something we can contact the staff via that number, if you are whatsapp user you also can chat the staff via that number, so convenient in my opinion.

I book capsule in Woman room, as I know they don’t have mixed gender room. In this room they have 10 capsules, 10 lockers, we will use locker that have same number as our capsule. In the locker we will get slippers and towel. i really like hotel that provide towel, because that’s mean I can travel light without towel. The capsule is stacked, so there is capsule in top and bottom, I choose the bottom one and my friend at the top. I like the stairs because it diagonally but also hate it because the step is tiny so its not that hard to going up but for me its hard to going down.

So, what inside the capsule. We need to open the capsule with the card. After it open, we need to enter card it the specific slot to turn on the capsule. After that the capsule will turn on and we can control it with panel inside the capsule. In this panel, we can charge our phone (there is 2 USB port), we can adjust the fan (FYI, this hotel is so cold, I put the fan in minimum just in case i need air circulation inside my capsule) , we can adjust the light color (blue, green, pink, white, etc), we also can adjust how bright the light (in my friend capsule this feature is broken), there is Sleep mode when you press it, all of light and TV will be turn off, there is Door Lock button to open the door (but if you press it and do nothing, the door will be locked again automatically) , and last the TV button to turn off the TV.

Ok, inside the pod we will get 1 pillow, 1 blanket , TV with remote , headphone and mineral water. Actually this capsule is not soundproof, so that’s why we need to watch TV with the headphone. And please bring yours earphone, earbud, or somthing like that if you want to listening music or watching something from your gadget. I can hear my friend coughing, my friend can hear me talking via phone inside the capsule.

Okay, in this Woman room, we have sharing bathroom. In the bathroom we have 3 shower room and 2 toilet. The bathroom is clean , does not smell, but the problem is the shower has so sad water pressure. I clean my self before bed and got frustrated with water that coming out. But fortunately, in the morning the water pressure become better, i can shower , wash my hair without any problem. They have a soap dispenser inside, you can use it as soap and shampoo, but I think better you bring your own, I never think soap and shampoo can have same formula.

Ok, once again This capsule is not soundproof. I will tell you my experience sleep in this hotel. It is hard to sleep in this hotel. The bed , pillow, blanket everything is comfortable, even the capsule size is okay for me. But the main problem is about SOUND. So near 1 AM, 2 girl enter our room and they sleep next to my capsule. First the foot step is so annoying. They just check in to the hotel, so its normal to busy with the luggage and etc. They go to bathroom back and forth and SLAM the bathroom door so hard, chit chat with each other, so it is so noisy. I compared it to my experience in Time capsule @Penang, I dont remember have trouble with sleep, the bathroom is outside the sleeping room, so there is no stepping sound and i remember that Time Capsule using carpet so the foot step is muted and no one chit chat with loud voice. Luckily when they enter the capsule, it become peaceful once again. And then at 5.30 am the noisy sound is back, this 2 girls I think have early flight so they wake up so early, and tidy up their things and become noisy. I actually angry with this 2 girls, because before they come, this room is so peaceful. This room is actually full, some people do their things but not make a loud sound. I also with my friend there, but we choose to chit chat via out chat apps than speak inside the room, because we know there is another people in this room, and the capsule is not soundproof. It’s the basic manner if you go to shared bedroom like this. So my point is for every one that sleep in dorm hotel please be considerate and please have some manner and understand the rule first.

So the conclusion is this hotel is worthy. If you traveling to Jakarta and want to try new experience, staying inside capsule, you can choose this hotel. The service and location is good. But you must be prepare with not soundproof area.
