Autumn in Korea – Day 1 (Busan) – Beomeosa Temple, Nampo-dong

Menyambung postingan aku sebelumnya. Setelah mandi, makan, instirahat sejenak. Kami pun turun bersama Sung Oppa.

But some man has some special power in this area, menentukan arah, and somehow he has a good one.

Beomeosa Temple,

Ang that’s right.

Hmm, sebagai the first place that we visit, it’s quite good. dan mungkin karena hujan juga, sama sekali tidak ada pengunjung lain selain kami.

OMG we are lost without him. Kami pun pergi mencarinya, Beomeosa temple sudah kami kelilingi sekali lagi, tapi tak kami temukan sosok ganteng itu. Sampai akhirnya dia yang menemukan kami. Jadi bingung yang ilang kami atau dia. Hihihi. Karena hujan dan angin yang bertiup kencang sekali sehingga we are frezzing to the death.

Snack

Hotteok n Sosis and chicken bbq

Everyone that go to Busan, please you must try this Hotteok. I thin k it is the best Hotteok that I taste in Korea, I go to Seoul, Jeju, adn Busan and I think Hotteok in nampo-dong is the best. It’s located near BIFF valley and it’s very good, filled with brown sugar, peanut and seed. Must go back to Busan for this. So, that night is my first time to taste soju. hihihihi.

dinner

Soju, jeokbal, Side dish… Yummy ^^

And then Jeokbal coming. Hmmm, penampakannya sangat enak. And that’s on him, kami ditraktir Sung oppa, jadi tambah enak deh makan yang manis manis dingin sambil liatin oppa ganteng apalagi gratisan karena dibayarin sama yang ganteng juga.

dessert

Injeolmi toast n Goguma Patbingsu

Rasanya enak banget, jika mau ke Korea, usahakan untuk menyicipi Patbingsu di sana. it’s a must.

snack mlm

Strawberry Milk , Banan Milk, Samgak-Kimbap

Kami punturun ke bawah, berjalan menuju Seven Elven seperti petunjuk Sung, dan we found it. Not so yummy, I thin, even Big Sis think Banana Milk by Cimory is more yummy that this. But, samgak-kimbap is yummy, and it’s become our saviour in manu times we starving in the morning. So delicious. So, our night is over, after we eat all of aur jajanan in the blink of eyes. We sleep and pray for a good weather for tomorrow, no more rain and gray clouds. By. Lil Sis

Hi, It’s time to continue my story about our trip, Autumn in Korea. After Day 1 part 1 and part 2, Finally I have time and throw away my laziness to write our experience in Korea. So, in Day 2, we still at Busan. The night before, we talk to Sung Oppa that we can start our trip at 10.00 AM. But, because we are so lazy to wake up early and we started at 11.00 AM, it’s already too late I think for traveler, but what can we do, Sung oppa house is too comfortable for us. As always in our trip, Big Sis always wake up first, because we only can use 1 bathroom, we taking turn t0 shower. The first is always Big Sis, and then me or Miss Pepz, and the last (always the last) is Mr Damz. Sung oppa told me that his mom is cooking soup for breakfast, and we can have it for breakfast, but we didn’t see his mom, his sister, so we feel it’s not right to take it without permission, so we just eat another samgak kimbap that we bought yesterday. At 10 am, Sung oppa show up , he slept at her girlfriend house yesterday (this is just our assumption, because he said he go to halloween party with her girlfriend, but we’re pretty sure about this). He said that he afraid that he already too late, and we already wait him to go, but we even not ready yet that time. So he have time to grooming himself first. Finally, we ready and begin our journey. Our first destination is Hae Dong Yong Gung Temple . Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is situated on the coast of the north-eastern portion of Busan. This superb find of a tourist spot and temple offers visitors the rare find of a temple along the shore line and it’s very old temple, it built in 1376, already more than 600 hundred years. I am sorry that I can describe to you how to get there, because we just sit nicely and beautifully inside Sung oppa car. We discussed where we want to go, Sung oppa said yes, and we arrived savely at that place. Just like that, our live in Busan it’s so not traveler I think. Hahahha Before we go to Haedong Yonggusa, Sung oppa take us to the deck observatory. From there we can see Busan from above. So beatiful scenery, but too bad the weather is not so good, the clouds is little bit grey. So the photo we take it’s look like so cloudy becouse the sky is so dark. We go to 3 place. The view is so cool and beautiful, and of course so nice to take a photo. The first and second place we go before we go to Haedong Yonggusa, and the last place we go after lunch.

After we arrived at Haedong Yonggusa , Sung oppa lead us to the temple. Along the way to the temple, there are so many people selling something, from clothes, souvenirs, foods, even vegetables. We already tempting to stop and eat in some stand that really really make us drooling. Just for your information, we only have 3 samgak kimbap for breakfast, so we are pretty hungry right now. But, we decided to eat after this. We keep walking after we found Chinese Zodiac statue, Sung oppa gave us some coins, he said that put the coin on the statue and make a wish. So we go to our statue based on our chinese zodiac, Lil Sis is Goat, Mr damz is Horse, Big sis is Snake, and Miss Pepz is Dragon, yes we have different chinese Zodiac. And Sung oppa is chicken. After put the coin, we took a photo with the statue, and found a Traffic Safety monument. I don’t know what for that pagoda there, maybe there are a lot of accident happened there before.

We must going down 108 steps before we can see the  beauty of the temple. Be careful because the stairs is slippery and there are so many people there. We also find a wishing pond. Sung oppa also gave us some coins, to make we throwed it there. Unfortunately, no one could make a score. It’s too hard. But, It’s fun, if I have more coin, I think i will keep try, but I didn’t have it and to ask Sung oppa to give us more is little bit wrong I think. So, we quitely continue our step to the temple.

Decoration – So cute bikkhu

Maybe, because it was weekend, so it’s so crowded, there are so many people there. So,it’s hard to take a picture with no body behind you or no body in yout photo frame. So, after Sung oppa took us to temple, he said he will wait us in the car (as always), so we cab have our we time. Take photo every where, every spot, even silly photo. And then we going up to see Avalokitesvara, there are so many stairs to going there. From above we can see the whole area, we can see beautiful beach too. So beautiful.

15

Start Line to go upstairs

16 After that, we went down and go to another place. From above we can see that there are another statue in right side of the temple. So, we decided to go there. I think it is the statue of sea God,  but I am not sure. We enjoy the beach smell, the scenery, the wave sound, and of course taking photo. it’s a good place I think.

17

We took photo a lot in this spot, one by one. And suddenly the ahjumma that had already wait us too long, took our camere and said “you three stand there, I will took the photo of you” And we deligently nod our head and pose there. Thanks Ahjumma and Sorry Ahjumma ^^. Don’t ask where Mr Damz, at that time we alo don’t know where he is.

After that we back to Sung oppa. But, the hungry stomach, made us stop in some food stand. First we buy Grill Octopus Legs. Delicious, not so hard to chew, and maybe because we were very starving, it’s taste very delicious. We also, stop to Oden stall. Eat some Oden and drink the soup. OMG, we are like native korean (It’s what i thought in my head). After full our stomach, we go to parking area to find Sung oppa.

21

The Grilled Squid, and Oden. In Oden stall, we can get the soup as much as we want. Just take the galss and fil it with soup, if you want it again, just take it agin, you can serve yourself

Sung oppa offered us to have lunch. and we agree right away. We just had our appetizer at Haedong Yonggung, and still hungry. He took us to the restaurant that sell bibimbap with sashimi. He said he usually go there in the summer if he surfing. It’s near Haeundae Beach and not so far from Haedong Yonggung. We buy 3 bibimbap, 1 sashimi, and 2 fish soup.

23

Restaurant

I think the restaurant is quite popular. There are a lot of customer even it’s just a small and old restaurant. Even some actor in Korea have come there. So many autogrpah in their wall.

24

Restaurant

25

Bancchan. We got Seaweed jeon and Sea weed porridge. it’s so delicious… ^^

26

Sashimi Bibimbap

This is so delicous. The best bibimbap that we ever had. And actually we couldn’t fins it in another place, Jeju or Seoul. the fish is so fresh, chewy, so delicious with gocujang and the other vegetables. The restaurant is also generous. The sashimi is a lot.

27

Sushi

I don’t know what fish that they use for this. But It’s really fresh and the fish is so chewy. With wasabi between the rice and fish. So delicious. Hmmm, i want go there again. The sashimi is jjang. two thumps up.

28

Fish soup

It’s a fish soup. Korean people always have soup in their table. So Sung oppa also order it for us. It contains some tofu, vegetables, and of course fish (head fish). I don’t know why sung oppa just drink the soup, but not eat the tofu, orr the fish. And I followed him, I drink the soup (from the same bowl with him heheheh), and just took a little bit of tofu. The soup is so refreshing, the tofu is so soft. Enak Enak Enak ^^

29

We took photo with restaurant ahjumma ^^

After we finished our meal, we took a photo with ahjumma. At first she think that we need her help to take a photo of us with Sung oppa, and we think sung oppa also think like that. So, it’s funny think when we explained it to them what we want. hahaha. but the important thing, we got the photo. And continue our journey. I think, it’s already a long long, very long writing, si i will stop it here. Please wait next posting patiently, I will continue it as soon as possible. ^^ By. Lil Sis

Autumn in Korea – Day 2 (Busan) – APEC House, Mermaid Statue, Oryukdo Skywalk, Seomyeon

I will continue story about our trip in Korea, Autumn in Korea, this is already part 4 of my story. You can find previous part of my story in this link part 1, part 2, and part 3.

So, We still at Busan in our second day. We start our trip little bit late this morning, we go to Haedong yonggusa temple, and rom then we had lunch not so far from the temple. After lunch, we continue our journey (Every time I type journey, I think about Journey to the West (Tong Sam Cong, Sung Go Kong and friends, I don’t know why :P ), we go to an Observation Deck, from there we can see Haeundae Beach.

30

Photo by Sung Oppa – Us with Cloudy sky and not so blue sea

In this deck, we meet a couple that really really sweet. They are not young anymore, maybe already over 50. The man has a love sticker in his cheek,  they walk together with hiking outfit, but the guy bring a radio , play a very old song I think, and walking side by side, holding hand , stop to taking picture, the vibe is so romantic and make you happy to see how happy they are.

After take some time, enjoy the scenery and fresh air there. Sung oppa took us to someplace that actually we don’t know where is this. He just stop in front of a hotel. He will wait us here in the car, and we can going around near the hotel. At first I don’t get it, why he want us to circle this park, It’s look just like a park for me. until I see some sign board, that in the park, I can see APEC house, I can see mermaid statue and many more. it’s so nice park i think.

31

Photo By : Lil Sis –  The Sign that open my mind

We decided to go to the right first, to APEC house, 0.5 km it’s not too far, we walking slowly and enjoy the air. the is so fresh and our eyes also spoiled by green and autumn tree. There are so many people walking here like us to enjoy the air , old, young, even baby go there or walking. and the bad news it the road is uphill, so even only a half kilo, it’s pretty tired for us, the youngster who already has elder stamina. So, we decide to just walk slowly, and rest a bit in rest area for answer what a lot of people nature call. And we founs a eally good spot to take a photo near the toilet.

32

Photo by : Lil Sis – The view in front o our toilet

33

Left taken by : Lil Sis Right taken by : Miss Pepz A lot of stairs but the view is so gorgeous

I think this place it’s really good to enjoy autumn, with so many tree that start to turn into red, yellow, and orange. After we feel enough taking photo near toilet, we continue to find APEC house. After we arrived there, we enter that place, it’s free , there is no admission fee. We go to the hall, the lace that all of president or leader from participating country, sit in circle. And sure what i want to find first is where is My president sat when he attend this event in 2005 (at that time, our President is Mr. SBY ) . We walking around that place, we also know this place as one of running man shooting avenue. They ever play name tag ripping here. talking photo every where. We go to the back side of APEC house, we can see a beautiul garden that facing the sea. in the garden there are some podium that used for all of participant to take photo using hanbok (traditional Korean outfit). And of course we find where is Mr SBY place at that time. and take a photo at the same spot like him.

34

Photo By : Iam not sure APEC house, please find Mr SBY in hanbok

35

Photo by : Big Sis Pretend to see something, I don’t have coin to use. What do you call this binocular, I called it “Teropong Koin”

From APEC house we walked to Observation deck. There are a light house there and some “teropong koin”, I dont know what it called in Indonesia and in Englich, it’s just what I call it “teropong koin”, we can use the binocular after we enter the coin. the description in there, that we can see japan island if the weather is clear with the “teropong coin”. But it’s not that clear, so I think it’s just waste money to use the “teropong coin”. The light house is not so big, but I really don’t like it, so many hand writing in the wall of the light house. It’s make the light house so dirty from outside I think.  from the observation deck, we also can see the APEC house.

36

Photo By : Big Sis Model : Lil Sis From Observation deck, some sunlight like I will get enlightmen, sea, and APEC house

So smart i think, the Korean people. They make a cool avenue with an international event that hold in their country. Make it so beautiful and when the event is over, it become tourist attraction and can be place for their local to recreation. Indonesia must learn from them in tourism aspect I think. We continue our journey, after walking uphill from the star until the observation deck, we finally walking down hill. We go to mermaid Statue right now. To go there, to see the statue near we must use bouncy bridge. it’s not scary thing, i enjoy to cross the bouncy bridge, but believe me, don’t use the bridge with kids. You will bounce bounce and go to left and right because they Jump in the bridge.

37

Photo By : Lil Sis Model : Mermaid Statue

There is story about this statue, I read it in the description sign near the statue but poor me, I forgot it already. What I remember is the king falling in love with a princess from sea, and then they are married, but the princess is miss her hometown,  and the mermaid statue is that princess. but I am not sure, maybe someday when I comeback to Busan I can read the description again and remember it. and edit my story here pr if readers know the exactly stories about this statue, just give comment to my blog.

From The statue we are going back to parking area to meet Sung oppa. The park is pretty cold i think, but because we walk a lot, our body become hot. I got  my first experience see my breath here. When we breath from out mouth something like smoke appeared. i make us so excited, we never can do that before in our hot climate country. Hahahaha. Little bit “Katro”

Photo by Lil Sis – Oryukdo Skywalk description

Our next destination is sky walk, Oryukdo Sky walk. It’s located at a cliff, it’s like the extension of the cliff, with glass floor, so we can see sea under us. Not too scary, but an interesting tourismn object i think.  It give us sensation walking in the  sky. And don’t worry because it’s safe. We must take off our shoes or sandal when step on the glass floor because they don’t want our shoes scratch the glass or maybe left some dirt and make the glass is dirty and we can see clear sea under it.

After walking in the sky, pose with the power that gave us the power

After taking photo a lot here, we decided to going home. Sung oppa has another appointment tonight with his girlfriend, so we must going home soon. Actually we still have time, so He offered us to go to Viking (it is like “Kora Kora” in “Dufan”) – but we want to go to Taejongdae,  but he told us is very far, if we go there, he willbe vwery late coming to his girl tonight. Really unfortunate, Taejongdae is very famous and beside that we also want to see Sung oppa cafe there (Sung oppa opened a coffee shop in Taejongdae – find him if you go there). So, after so many thought we decide to go home early and the walking to Seomyeon- it’s just 3 min from Sung oppa apartement, so close right.

Because maybe tonight is the last time we meet Sung oppa, because we must go to airport in the morning, and Sung oppa may be not at home yet, so we ask him something. We ask him to call a taxi or us to go to airport tomorrow and we gave him a souvenir from Indonesia , we gave him “Wayang”. He really love it, from his expression, i guess he really really like it. And I think his mom also like it, and to show us how gratitude they are, his mom gave us night snack. After we going home after strolling in Seomyeon area, She gave us a plate full of snack.

Ok back to Seomyeon, at first we decided to go alone to Seomyeon but Sung oppa said he had a time to taking us around the seomyeon , so at least we know how to get there and how to ind way home. And actually we never imagined that the Seomyeon is so closed by his aprtement. It’s just cross the road and you arrived. At the way to Seomyeon, we ind ahjumma that sell snack that filled with peanut. Sung oppa stop and buy it for us, we actually pretty hungry so we eat it deliciously.

The snack, what should i call this snack? it’s like “kue cubit” or “bolu” in Indonesia, but it illed with peanut. It has peanut shape that filled with peanut paste, and there are walnut shape that maybe filled with walnut paste (I am not sure about what the filling taste like, so I just make some assumption here because o the shap, so correct if somebody know what is it). Sung oppa also bought us tteokbokki, it’s the first tteokbokki we had in South Korea. And we ate it at an ahjumma stall, like native korean. The portion is quite big, so we just bought 1 portion and share it around five of us. We make sure it’s not make us too full before the real dinner.

Sung oppa not just buy us some food, he also take us around. Show us something interest in Seomyeon. SO many restaurant give sample in front of the restaurant. Sung oppa with a lot of energy, point it and pull us to get the sample. It’s so interesting right. It feel like we in the game of treasure hunting, and if we see it, we will be very happy and run there immediately. Interesting to see that side of Sung oppa.

There are so many thing in Seomyeon, When yoou enter that place, it’s like Nampo dong, but in nampo there are more tourist than here, maybe because nampo dong more amous with BIFF, so many youngster strolling there. But in Seomyeon, majority is local, and not so crowd like Nampo dong. But the neon light it’s really daebak. when you enter the area, you will be welcome by  sign board that shine brightly. There are so many thing there, there are some bar, restaurant, coffe shop, flower shop, even Motel. So, when we want to choose a restaurant for dinner, it’s so hard, really hard, because there are so many restaurant that looks so good and nice. Sung oppa leave us after gave us fast tour at Seomyeon. So, we must walking around alone here.

We decide to eat chicken. Miss Pepz have read an blog that said in Seomyeon there are a restaurant that called Buffalo Chicken. It’s so delicious, so we decided to find it, and have dinner there. And We find a  restaurant that have so funny mascot in front of their restaurant. So we decided to enter that place, we arenot sure about is the restaurant is buffalo chicken or not, Miss  pepz pretty sure about that so we just enter, we are really really hungry by the way. We are welcomed by a girl, she took us to a table inside, and give us the menu, but not talking to much because she know we can speak Korean, and we think she not fluent in english too. Because after that, we order ,we asked something, we pay with a guy that talking english with us, not so good but at least we can communicate well.

We ordered one portion bbq chicken and one portion fried chicken. They gave me porridge at first, the porridge contain black sesame seed i think, it has the sesame aroma and it is black porridge. yummy. They also give us a lot of sauce, I don’t know exactly what the sauce, but i prefer not use any sauce for the chicken, but it’s already so  delicious. The BBQ chicken come first, and it’s very big portion. They also give us a scissors and some tongs to help us eat the chicken without make our hand dirty. The first time I eat fried chicken without getting dirty hand.

BBQ Chicken

BBQ chicken is so delicious, it’s still moist, the maridate is also  very delicious and get along well with the chicken. They also give us some veggie, so we try to make some wrapped chicken meat here, get the perilla leaf, some veggir, kimchi and of course chicken. Hmmm so delicious. Big Sis, Miss Pepz and Mr Damz, don’t like the perilla leaf, but Lil Sis is okay with that. The perilla give some unique aroma i think.

Fried Chicken

This is the fried chicken, it is also very yummy. The outside is so crunchy, and had some herb there, maybe lemon but i am not sure, but it make a fresh bite of the chicken. the meat also still moist and juicy. At the plate you can see something white and have a tube shape right. Actually it is a fried tteokbokki.  yummy. Overall this restaurant id so recommended for me, I give it 9.5/10. It also have beer here, we know that Korean enjoy eating fried chicken with beer, we also see so many people eat fried chicken with beer.

After very very full eating all of the chicken, we going back to Sung oppa house. But we stopped by at mini mart first. Miss Pepz bought a bottle of soju, coffee, samgak kimbap for our breakfast tommorow. And tonigh, with Sung oppa’s mother Snack with  drink Soju. We just take a sip one by one, and the Miss Pepz and Mr Damz finish it. We also find a Raspberry wine is refrigerator, Sung oppa told us we can get everything from the refrigerator, so we took it. We don’t finish it, we just take a sip to taste it. And for me I prefer the raspberry wine, because it’s more sweet and i think it’s  more traditional wine. But soju is stronger

Soju vs Raspberry Wine

So, our last night in Busan is like this. Drink alcohol. Not a lot, we just drink a bottle of soju and maybe just a glas of raspberry wine that we shared it for 4 people. No body feel tipsy, but it help us warm our body and sleep easily.

This is it, Our Day 2 in South Korea is finish. We sleep after clean our body for better tommorow. Next day we must go to airport in the morning and catch the flight to Jeju Island. So wait for next post, because it’s about farewell with busan and Jeju do.

Hi, I want to continue my story about Autumn in Korea, It’s already story about out 3rd day in South Korea. Today our itinerary is Go to Jeju Island, from busan to Jeju, That’s why the title is “Good bye Busan & Hello Jeju”. We are so excited too go there, because from what we hear and what we read, Jeju is beautiful island with so many tourist attraction, beach, museum, and a lot of delicious food. We will fly to Jeju with Jeju Air. We already asked Sung oppa to call Taxi for us, we will fly around 12 p.m, but because of afraid with traffic, sung oppa told us to go early. So he book taxi for 10 a.m.

We are ready before 10, and wait patiently. We will go down to basement at 10 a.m to wait the driver. but before that Sung oppa came with his girlfriend just in time we will go down wait in basement. He told us, the taxi driver will call where he arrived, so just stay at home and go down when he call. So, we sit at the living room and watching TV with Sung oppa and his girl. But 10 am already passed and no call from the driver. Sung oppa call him, but no answer. OMG, we already had panic attack. Sung oppa keep call, and finally taxi driver answer it, Sungoppa talked with Korean language, but with his expression and how he talk, we know that he angry with the driver like “Why you not arrived yet, it’s already late”, He called the driver so many time because the driver seem angry too and closed the phone. At 10.30 am the driver called again and said he already at basement. Sung oppa told us, and help us to brought out luggage to basement. OMG, it’s the time to say good bye to our Oppa, I want to hug him so bad, but shake hand is already enough >_<

They allso give garlic bread for complimentary.

Photo By : Lil Sis before sleep – Busan Air

So, after a while, it’s time to fly. We use Busan Air to go to Jeju.  It’s quite a good plane. The space between our chair with chair in front of us is quite spacious. We also get free drink, I don’t know what kind of drink, because as I  sit at the chair I quickly sleep. I know about this drink because Big Sis told me, the stewardess gave them orange juice, but I already asleep so I didn’t get one. From Busan to Jeju is not take a long time , approximately 1 hour.

Photo By : Lil Sis Miss Pepz with a plane in Jeju Airport

Miss Pepz with a plane in Jeju Airport

After 1 hour we arrived at Jeju. We took all of our baggage and go to our Car Rental booth. We already book a car , we made a booking when we was in Indonesia, We compare so many car rental and finally the cheapest one and have the car that we want is AJ Rent a Car . So, we go there, show them our reservation, but we are really really disappointed . The staff told us that we can not drive with their car because we are from Indonesia, International driving license from Indonesia is not permitted here. It’s really strange, in their website, when we book the car, we already choose that we are from Indonesia, and there is no validation or notification that Indonesia is banned to drive in Korea. From what I read, we Read, all of country that inlcude in Geneva convention can drive at Seoul, AJ car rental also state the condition in their website, and Indonesia is part of Geneve Convention , here is the proof. You can find Indonesia and find it there, Indonesia join at 1958. But they keep reject us because we are from Indonesia, and in their list country, there is no Indonesia. So disappointed. Our plan will absolutely fail if we can not get a car.

Photo by : Lil Sis Miss Pepz and Mr Damz start argue with AJ staff

Miss Pepz and Mr Damz start argue with AJ staff

Then we go to other car rental booth beside AJ, and find Kumho, it’s actually our first option to rent a car, but AJ is more cheap so we went to AJ. But same ther, we rejected once again. We mad, we confused. So, our last option ther, Jeju Rent Car. It’s the best car rent in Jeju, but it’s so expensive, we must pay double from the other car rental. So we never make it as option. But I know why it become the best, because the service is so good. We ask them about can Indonesia drive here, they check their list, they check our driving license, and she said ok. It’s not problem. Wow, it’s so happy to hear, but the problem is quite expensive and will ruin our budget. But we don’t have any choice. So we rent the car from Jeju rent car. But, we must rent a phone too, it’s the condition from Jeju rent car, they said we need handphone so we or they can call us if there some trouble happen. So, we quickly go to Olleh and rent a phone there, not a smartphone type, just a simple phone. It’s really took our time a lot and really took our money a lot. I really really disappointed with AJ, their website, their service, I think they didn’t want to double check it, maybe we are their first Indonesia customer, and they never had before, so they are not sure if Indonesia is Ok or not Ok and reject us.

So, after a long way to wait, angry, mad, and so tired because all of shock that we got. We finnally get the car. Some staff took us to her friend that wait outsite to pick us up to the  car. He drove us to a parking area, show us the car that we will use. But before that, the administrative is must completed first, so Miss Pepz and Mr Damz followed the staff to their office and finish the administrative. It’s just about payment and double check the driving license. After that they back with ahjusi that check the condition of car and help us set the GPS, even teach us how to use it. And then we ready set go. Because it’s the first time we use car with the driver seat in the left, it’s awkward , so Mr Damz, our driver drove it around the parking area before we go to the real road. He told us, it’s confusing at begining, but a man has the drive instinct so he quickly adjusted.

Autumn in Korea – Day 3 (Jeju) – Yongduam Rock, Mysteriuos Road, Love Land

I will continue my stories “Autumn in Korea”, I think I must be diligent now and try to finish my story before autumn come. In my previous post I already told you how we go to Jeju from Busan, and when we arrived, we rent a car for go around jeju. After the rent process is done, we immediately go to our first destination. When we still in Indonesia, we already made a survey and a list of place we want to go in Jeju, and we also note the phone number. It’s very useful to use in GPS. We got English GPS from rent a car, to find the place we can enter the address, the place name or the phone number, but i think use phone number is more accurate, because sometime we as non native korea have a hard time to write the name even with alphabet. So, with phone number is easier.

Well, the first stop is Yongduam Rock or Head Dragon Rock. Its located near airport, so just in no time we arrived there. We parked and suddenly surprised with the wind, it’s blow hard and so cold. We think Jeju will more warm because it’s an island and be surrounded with beach. But the beach make Jeju the wind so wild. Hahaha. The wind success made our photo is bad that day. No one is good, the wind ruin our hair and our expression. Maybe you can find how hard the wind blow in some of our photo below. Check it out.

After we park, we find this stone, I think the letter means Dragon Head Rock. And some tourist like us queue to take a photo there, so as a good tourist we took a photo there too.

The shop sell many thing about Jeju, the cute statue like the picture. The food, the chain key, so many thing. You can find anything there that can proof you that you really go to Jeju.

From yongduam rock we go to Mysterious road (Dokkaebi Road) . It has earned its name, as objects and liquid appear to roll and flow up the hill instead of down. A lot of people pour their drink on the road to see the water going up the hill not going down, and some people also ride in their car, and without  start the engine the car is going up to the hill, some people also took empty soft drink can or empty bottle to see the effect. And some people also do something that really really amazed me, and confused me, and really make me thing the mysterious is too mysterious until I don’t get what the mysterious of this mysterious road. I don’t get any thing from what people said and did there. We try pour the drink, try to place the bottle, and also try the weird thing like all people there did, but instead of get the meaning of mysterious road we got zonk, the water is flowing down not going up, the bottle also go down. And the weird thing we never get it on the first place. Let me tell you what the weird thing. So, at first wemust walk backwards going up the hill, and then we try to going down and the effect we will get is we will going down so fast, like running. Some people tried and they get the effeect, going down with scream “kya kya” because it’s too fast, but when we try, it’s just like normal walk for us. something wrong with us or the people just exaggerated this mysterious road.  The thing that save me from mysterious road is the scenery. Because the mysterious road located between 2 mountain, there is rows of pine trees that neatly lines up in the green field, so beautiful. Beside that, the food stall there is also really tempting us. Miss Pepz buy a sausage there.

From mysterious road, we go to Love Land. When we park the car, we can see the visitor mostly is middle aged people. There are so many group that consist of ahjussi and ahjumma. We only see a little youngster like us there. Love land is focused on a theme of sex, running sex education films, and featuring 140 sculptures representing humans in various sexual positions. Maybe that’s why we didn’t see any kids there. When I enter the place for the first time, We found a giant naked woman sculpture in flirty pose. We found many naked sculpture there and also in hot pose. Ahjumma that see that sculpture just giggle with their friend, shy smile, even laught while think something funny in their head. I think it’s good place to go with your husband and wife and friend without any love connection. But never bring your parent or your kids there. I am sure it will be awkward . Entrace Fee is 9000 Won for one person.

We leave Love land while sun began to sink. We already very hungry and need to eat as fast as we can. So we go to restaurant that sell black pork. Black pork is popular food in Jeju. We must eat it when we go to Jeju. Actually I don’t know what the different between black pork and not black pork, the only one i know is the black ones is more expensive. This is the reataurant, it’s famous in Jeju, but I forget the name. I am sorry T_T. But if you can read hangul, I think you can read the picture below. The food here is delicious. really really delicious.

We got a lot of side dish, kimchi, salad, soup, crab with kimchi sauce (maybe kimchi crab), white kimchi. And the rice also really surprise me because when we open the lid we got really pink or slightly purple rice not white as normally rice we eat. But the taste it so great, it’s just not rice, there is also some seed and maybe black rice inside. It’s really sticky and yummy. The crab kimchi is also delicious, the crab is so sweet and it is the first time i eat raw crab. The soup also so refreshing. And maybe because we didn’t eat properly today, it became double delicious.

Dinner with Pork feast

This is the various meat we order, all of it is black pork, we also get the skin and 2 slices of mushroom. They also gime me a sauce in a little bowl that put in the grill to keep it warm. The sauce is little bit salty and spicy but it really compatible with the pork. As korean eat, we also make lettuce wrap to eat kimchi. And the composition is up to you. But I usually use lettuce, rice, meat, kimchi, garlic and sometime gochujang or another veggie in the table, wrap it nicely and eat it in one gulp. So yummy. We service our selves tonight. Usually in BBQ place, there are a waiter who help us to grill, but in this place we grill by our selves, but the thinkk that i really love in Korean food is we can ask more for the side dish and the drink (barley tea). It’s free of charge. So more lettuce and more kimchi please. We spent 49000 Won for dinner.

After we eat, we decide to find our hotel tonight. We already booked a hotel in hanok style. The name is Kasan Tobang. But we never know where the place and we will just trust the GPS to find the hotel for us. Jeju in night is so quiet. Not so many car in the road, we can drive fast there. In Jakarta the road is like toll road in Lebaran holiday, like desolated road. But, unfortunately we can not drive to fast because the speed limit and camera in the road. The camere will took a photo of us if we exceed the speed limit. And the GPS will said there is camere in 500 m, the speed limit is 80, don’t drive to fast, there is speed bump in 500 m. Sometime the GPS is really annoying because just us in the road but we can not go fast. But we try to follow the rule, we are in another country anyway, we want our trip is save until last day. As I told you before, we just trust the GPS for find our hotel. But it direct us to dead end. The GPS ask us to turn to small road , we trus it and just go until we know that it’s not right, the road is too dark and along the road there are tall grass that I called it “Ilalang” in Indonesia. I don’t know what it in Eglish is. So scary , so we decide to go back to the road before we turn to the dead end. We just going straigt, and the GPS calculate the road, and I think know we are in the correct road. We drive and finally arrive there. After lost in scary road, finally. We can take a rest there.

Our room at Kasan Tobang

We plan to sleep in Korean traditional way, that’s why in Jeju we book this kind of hotel. That is our room and our bed. The bed actually so thin, and because we never sleep in thin bed before it make our back hurt at the morning when we wake up. Although the hotel is in traditional concept, it still have air con, TV, internet acces, computer, microwave. So if you have frozen food or want to heat some food you can use the microwave that located in the dining room. In kasang tobang, we will get breakfast, it is free already include I think it the room price. The breakfast menu is always Abalone porridge with some side dish like kimchi. There are also some computer with internet access. So, if you want to find some info, or maybe transfer your photo from camera to your portable hard disk you can use the computer freely. The big problem of this place is, the bathroom is like public bathroom in Korea. We will bath together with another guest. Because of that we decide to wake up early in the morning and we take a bath before another guest is wake up. And for tonight, we just clean our face, and brush our tooth, and then go to sleep.

Well, this post is our 4th day in South Korea. But before I tell you our story that day, I will introduce you our white car, this already took us everywhere in Jeju. In my previous post, I already told you how hard we could rent this car. So this is is white Avante. It’s comfortable for 4 people, and the baggage is quite wide so our big bag is save in there.

As, I told you before, We are slept in Kasan Tobang, it’s a hanok traditional Korean house style Hotel. It’s comfortable and feel homey I think. But, look at our room below. We just get a tiny bed, and because we are never sleep in tiny bed before, it’s hard for us, it’s just feel like we sleep without any bed, so, we wake up with backache. The floor is heated, so it’s warm, but maybe too warm us, and we feel like a steam pig there, but fortunately there is an AC there, so we turn on AC and can feel the cold breeze and neutralized the warm floor.

Because in Kasan tobong, the bathroom has jimjilbang style, so we woke up ealy and took a bath early too. So, before the breakfast ready, we already ready, of cource except Mr Damz that wen to the bad late and also woke up late .So, we have a tour around Kasan Tobang. We arrived at the night yesterday, so we just see the main building, the place that we sleep. But actually, Kasan tobang also have bungalow room and pretty big garden. Of course we took photo at every spot that we find it so beautiful and so Korea. Of couse we took photo with Dol-Haerubang. Look my photo below.

Do you know, there is a myth about Dol hareubang , If husband and wife traveling to Jeju and want a child. They must find this hareubang. If they want a boy, they must rub the nose, but if they want a girl, they must rub the stomach. You can find Dol Hareubang everywhere in jeju. So just rub it everywhere you can find.

Our Breakfast, Yummy Abalone porridge by Kasan Tobang

We got free breakfast at Kasan tobang. The menu is always same, Abalone Porridge. As what you see at the photo above, we can see the rice is still shaped as before. in Indonesia, we can see the rice anymore, it’s already not in rice shape anymore, it’s already disolved and become thick porridge. The abalone porridge that we ate at Kasan tobang is not so thick as indonesian porridge. In Indonesia, we eat chicken porridge for breakfast, but the chicken is not inside the porridge, they not cooked together, the chicken just the porridge topping. But, in this porridge, the abalone is not a topping, the rice and abalone cooked together , so you can see the porridge is look like plan porridge with any topping on it. We also could not see the abalone, but the taste is there. As usual, we got kimchi and soy sauce with some onion there as banchan. they made the porridge plan, no strong flavour, so eat it with kimchi or soy sauce is really make it more delicious. We stay at kasan Tobang 2 days, so we got to eat this porridge 2 times. it’s like a healthy dish because I know there is no MSG there, and abalone is also good for our body.

Orange Tree near Yakcheonsa Temple

After we finished eat, and because we already ready include mr Damz. We immediately start our journey today. We plan to go to some place that already we listed when we still at Jakarta. Our first destination today is Yakcheonsa Temple.  yakcheonsa Temple is a buddhist temple that already built in 1990s. it’s located at Seogwipo, not so far from kasan tobang. that’s why it’s became our first  stop today.  Because of GPS taht we got from rent this car, we can found this temple easily, just follow the sign well and we arrived safely. The parking area is so wide, and there is no car beside us, there just a bus there. Maybe because it’s too early and it’s not a weekend or holiday, so inot so many visitor whe we came. We found an tangerine or orange orchard near the parking area. We want to go there and take some photo. but I think it’s not appropriate to go there, because we didn’t even know who is the owner, and enter the orchard without permission is like we enter a stranger house without permission like a thief. So, we just took the photo from a far.

The Yakcheonsa temple is huge, the main temple is 2,652 meters squared, but the total area is 3,305 meters squared. The main temple is standing there facing the ocean. When you see inside, you can find a huge Buddha statue, and really wide hall for praying, we find some ahjumma there, praying and some do meditation. It’s so quite inside and really calm aura inside. Maybe meditating in this environment will help us more focus and fast to get the enlightenment. :D .

Blue sky without any cloud, from the photo I think you will say the weather is good, warm and cozy. But the wind is so cold, and because of it’s located near beach the wind is pretty strong. So, even the sun shining bright, we still need to use our coat tightly because the cold wind.

After strolling at Yakcheonsa temple, and taking photo in every corner, we go to our next destination. Soingook Theme Park, it’s located at Seogwipo too, so it’s not so far from Yakcheonsa. Jeju Soingook Theme Park is Jejudo’s major tourist attraction, covering about 20,000 square meters of land, holding various miniature models of famous architecture from all over the world including Korea’s famous building. We paid 9000 Won to enter this theme park.  If you ever go to Mini Siam at Pattaya, Thailand. It’s same, but in Soingook they display miniature of  famous Korean building too. There are so many building there, from all over the world, we alse saw Candi Prambanan there. Indonesia is there. ^_^

I am not sure what palace is that, maybe Gyoengbokgung Palace. I will visit this place, when I go to Seoul. So just wait, Ii give you the miniature first and then you can feel the real size after that.

Totem Room Escape, Challenge yourself to escape from the fear locked forever

$

Well, one day Miss Peps said to us Let’s play Escape Room game. And after she said that, she send us a lot of info about that, the game, the room decoration, hoe to play, the price, the venue, all abount escape room game. Make us really really excited to play. So, on last weekend, Me (Lil Sis), Big Sis, Miss Pepz, and 3 friend of Big Sis and Miss Pepz went to play this game. We choose Totem escape Room, it’s located at Tanjung Duren, Jakarta Barat, near Central park Mall. You can check more about Totem Room escape here.

Before I tell you about our experience there, I will give you briefly explanation about this game. Escape the roomm is actually a game, we usually play it on our mobile phone or our PC. In the game, we locked up at a room, and we must find something to open the door and escape from that room. The game is something like that, if you ever play it on your mobile phone, i bet you know what I mean in my bad explanation.. The point is, we were locked inside the room, and we must find way out to escape from that room and breath a fresh air.

Back to my experience. In Totem, they have 5 room in different Level, The room from level 1 to level 5 are Locked in Darkland, Egyption Secret, Kidnapped, Mission impossible, and Prison Break. To play in The Level 5 Prison Break Room, you must already passed the other room. because it the hardest room, and even we can not use short or skirt if want to play there. It is super hard to escape room according to the staff. Because we are newbie, so we choose Level 2 room Egyption Secret.

Miss Pepz made a reservation from the website, but no confirmation at all. So Miss Pepz called , and the staff said they forget the admin password to login into the web, so they can not look the reservation from the web. OMG. Finally we made a reservation via phone, we booked Egyption Secrret at 2 pm on Saturday 6 people. FYI, The maximum people for Egyption secret is 6 people. We paid 115K IDR for one person. The price is depend on how many people play. Because we play as 6 people, we paid 690K IDR.

So, when the time come, we go to Totem escape room, and made a payment and begged the staff to give us more time. We were only given 50 minutes, it is not enough for newbie like us. But, the staff didn’t budge, she just told us if we find it hard, just wave to the camera, and the staff will come give us a hint. So, the time to enter the room come and we entered. but before that we must, take all of our bag, phone, inside the locker. We cannot bring anything to the room beside our clothes. Even in some room, we can not use belt or watch.

Because we choose Egyption secret, we enter one by one, started from our leader, and we choose Miss Pepz friend who already played there once. But he play Locked in the darkland. And the last person to enter is me. One by one enter, and our foot is locked with chain and they locked it with a pad lock. When Lil Sis enter, the staff want to chain my foot too, but the chain is stuck at the floor so, she can not get it, and Lil Sis is free. No chain on my foot. Hehehehe.

So, the game is we must open the chain in our foot first, the first person that can open the chain is leader, the clue to open the leader lock is in that room. And after that the leader must find the key to open the other chain. because I already free I help the leader. I think they free me because we begged so much before to extend our time, but because thay can  not do that they make it easier for us. Anyway, the room is super dark. and they just give us a small torch. So , it’s pretty hard to find the clue.

Because we are play on the Egyption Secret room, of course there are some mummy coffin there, and a lot of sands like in dessert. Bones, heads, treasure chest with creepy backsound. The room is not have a good air conditioning, very hot inside, and because there are a bunch of sand there, it become dusty. For anyone who claustrophobic, never play Escape Room or you will die inside.

We already escape from the chain room, and we already enter the last stage. but unfortunately we failed, time is over. the staff entered the room to force us to go out. Sad why we can not escape, and really really curious about the clue.

How is my feeling play Escape the room? Hmmm, before I enter the room, i feeling excited, can not wait to play. The moment when one by one enter the room and and wait because i last to enter, really panic and my heart is racing inside. When play, happy when we can solved the clue, excited when we can open something or find something, feeling stupid when we ask for a hint and actually it is so easy to solved. Feeling gloomy when I didn’t know what to do anymore, feeling sad when the time is over and we failed. Feel curious when see the staff outside, and we start to ask where the other clue. So many feeling I fell on 1 hour because play this game.

So, if you like to solve a mystery and maybe bored with playing game on your phone, you must try escape room. Bring your fun friend with you and try to escape the room together. There are so many place that provide the game like this. You can choose to play Totem like us, or anywhere that near your place.

Miss Pepz and Big Sis, play Doraemon theme escape room at Serpong the day after we failed. They got 90 minutes, and they made it. Success. It become addictive I think, even we jokingly said we will play it at least once a month after payday.

Hi, Lil Sis is back. I will continue my posting about Autumn in Korea. Still at Day 4, after we go to Soingook Theme Park, we go to our next destination, Osulloc Tea Museum. It’s still located at Seogwipo, soit’s not so far from Soingook. This museum is so big, it has large green tea farm here, cafe, exhibition hall, the room for learn something about tea, there are also a Innisfree there. The yard and parking area is so big too. You can strolling there, to see green and enjoy the breeze leisurely. Anyway, it’s free to enter this place, no parking fee, no entrance fee. But if you hungry and buy some food there, of course you must pay.

The display for the museum is not a lot. there are various style of tea cup and teapot. Some painting too. But that’s it. There is just one room to display all of this, and that room also bring you directly to the cafe and a shop that you can buy tea. The cafe and the shop has more visitor than the display room. Maybe some people will think it’s just an entrance to go to the shop. Not something related to museum. But as I said before, the area is so big, there are some building, separated from the main building. When we walk around, we found some building that full with people learning something. The building has glass wall, so we can see people inside. The seat is full and their face look serious. I think they learn how to make tea well or something related to tea.

After, go to Yakcheonsa temple, and Soingook we didn’t eat anything. And with just porridge  for breakfast. We started to feel hungry. So we stop at the cafe. In Seoul you can find Osulloc tea house. It same with Osulloc tea museum in Jeju, the different is, they just have cafe and shop, no farm, no exhibition hall, and no room for study, no big yard, and no big parking area. In the cafe they sell food and drink related to green tea and of course they also sell the tea. If you are a tea lover, you must buy the tea, or at least you can buy it for a present to your family or friends. Because we need something to fill our stomach,we buy 2 sponge cake. 1 green tea sponge cake with vanilla filling 1 chocolate sponge cake with green tea filling. I really really like this sponge cake, especially the choco one. Because I think the green tea is dry not so moist like the chocolate. But actually both is good. The filling is not too sweet, so it’s perfect.

We also bought green tea ice cream. We buy 1 green tea with red bean , green tea sponge cake and something crispy as topping. The ice cream is also good too. not too sweet but treat our craving with sweet thing. I recommend you to try the sponge cake and the ice cream if you go here.

After, we eat. We go to innisfree. We know that innisfree have so much product with green tea and volcano things. Mostly of their ingredient is from Jeju. that’s why there are innisfree here. We go there with end in mind want to buy something to  our friend and family that ask us to buy for them. We entered the place, there are a lot of student there. I think they are in study tour, they learn how to make soap there. DIY soap, they can choose what ingredient they want, green tea, volcano, lemon, citrus, orange. They look happy, and I want to try too , but I think we must have a reservation first before. Unfortunately we didn’t buy anything there. We decided to buy when we are in Seoul. So after that, we just do some strolling in the yard and of course took a photo. here they are :

Ossuloc - Tea Museum The YARD

This yard is exactly near in front of innisfree. there are some bench with table there. And it can rotate, so we can sit there and rotate ourselver 360 degrees to see all around us. But some of them can not rotate anymore maybe because of the rust. We found Ilalang there. Miss Pepz has a desire to take a photo with ilalang. So when we found it, we immediately line up there to took a photo. Pretty isn’t it? Hahahaha

Look at me, I sat on the rotating bench, right in front of the green tea farm. it’s so  nice right. Sitting around here, look bright blue sky, and really green and neat tea farm. We also can go inside the farm. Took poto with the tea from near and close. Hahahaha. In Indonesia there are tea farm too, in Bogor , Malang, Bandung, or another place with not hot weather. the tea grow well in cold air. One of my wish is took a photo in tea farm there. But I think my wish come true in Korea.

After being around this area, we decided to move to another place. We decided to go to Jeju Glass Castle and on the way go there , we will find a place to have lunch.  But unfortunately we didn’t find any restaurant, so we end up eat at restaurant in Jeju glass castle. It is located in front of Jeju Glass castle, near the parking area. The restauranWe order abalone bibimbap for our lunch.

Abalone Bibimbap

Abalone Bibimbap

Miced Abalone Bibimbap and Side Dish

Mixed Abalone Bibimbap and Side Dish

Our Bibimbap consisted of Abalone, fish roe, yellow radish, kimchi, enoki mushroom, dried sea weed, and of course rice. It’s not as good as sashimi bibimbap I ate at Busan, but it’s not bad too, and because we are really hungry, we still finish it until nothing in our bowl. We also got side dish like kimchi, bean, potato salad, fish cake, veggie, and seaweed soup. the fish cake is really good, and the soup also refreshing. Although the bibimbap is just good, not extraordinary, and the abalone is just a little, we still ate our lunch happily.

After we eat, we go to purchase the entrance ticket for Jeju Glass Castle. We need to pay 9000 KRW for that. After got the ticket, we immediately enter. We found a really big beanstalk made from glass in our entrance. With some gold eggs below. This place full of glass, so be careful not to break them.

There are a lot of something like this in Korea. Pond with so many coins inside. I think Korean People like something like this, testing their luck. We have tried it when we at Busan, with help from Sung oppa, we throw coin t Haedongyonggung Temple. It’s kind addicting i think, but we lack of coin so we didn’t try it here.

Jeju Glas Castle - Magical Forest

Jeju Glas Castle – Magical Forest

There ara Magical forest section in Jeju glass castle. We will explore forest with a lot of colorful glass there. I think it will be perfect if go there in the evening, when the sky darker, the glass will be lighted and it will feel more magical. We tried back again int the afternoon, too get the effect, but unfortunately they close at 6.00 pm even earlier when late autumn and winter. So we missed it. So for you that want to go here, maybe you can go here around 4.30 pm, so you can get the light effect. Don’t forget to bring a good camera to capture the light.

Jeju Glas Castle - Magical Forest

There are a lot of wind chimes there. It is hanged on top of our head, and when the wind blows, it make a magical sound. it’s so cool I think, sound is so clear and make this forest like a place that you doesn’t want to leave.

After we took a photo in every side in Jeju Glass castle, we decided to go to next attraction. We went to Teddy bear Museum and after that go to Alive Museum and the last dinner before going back to out hotel. There are so many stories that I want to tell you about this day (4th day Autumn Trip in Korea) so I will finish it here, and make Part 3 of our Day 4. Wait for it. Have fun read and keep reading yah…

So we skipped Ripley, and went straight t Teddy Bear Museum. But, the building is unique, so we took our time a little bit for one two pose.

I really really want to break the glass, and take this doll and run as fast as i can, because this doll is really really expensive. Just because it wear Louis Vuitton . But I am not that crazy , and trust me i am not into Louis Vuitton and another branded fashion. As long as it comfort and look good on me, I wear it with happy face and confident. #slapLilSis #again #fortooMuch #akaLebay

Teddy Bear Museum

Teddy Bear Museum

You can find a lot of bear doll here. The doll for show and the doll for sell. They sell teddy bear doll here. From small until very big teddy bear. From white to black, any color, you can find it here. If you like Teddy bear and want to buy it, you can purchase it here, but the price is quite pricey for me. I want buy one or two for my niece, but because it’s expensive, I  canceled my intention.  In this museum there are a room for Elvis Bear Presley show. The Elvis is so cute, singing and dancing with his band. In this museum, there are indoor area and outdoor area. In outdoor area we can find bear sculpture. There are family bear that having picnic in the yard, a group of bear fishing in the pond and a lot of black bear rest in the stone. So much bear there.

Teddy Bear Museum

Teddy Bear Museum

After we finish circling whole area of this museum. The sky is already start to get dark. You can find it in our picture.  We continue our trip, we go to Alive Museum. We spent about 2 hours here and were exhausted after posing with the arts. Especially in trick art museum, you must have use your energy to pose and take a photo here. I certainly didn’t expect it will be so interesting. The entire museum is divided into 5 themes, Object Art, Trick Art, Digital Art, Sculpture Art and Provence Art.

In Object Art Theme, we can pose with object that will be recreating illusional picture. In Trick Art Theme, we can take a picture with some painting that will make us in that painting too. It will make us be a part to complete the painting. In Digital Art Theme, it combine digital with art and become digital image. We can do some interactions with the digital image. Next is Sculpture art, it’s located at the yard of this museum. There are a lot of unique sculpture here. Bu unfortunately we came when star already showed up so, we couldn’t take a picture there because the yard is so dark. And the last is Provence Theme, it’s the cutest one.

56

Sometimes we must collaborate with our friend to get a best picture, like my first picture with the naughty angel, who use “Jurus Derita Seribu Tahun” to Mr Damz. To take a picture with the sofa and make split body part it’s not that simple, we must go in the sofa, and try to squat down, and make our body length fit with the sofa and the foot part really well.
57 58

Angel and Devil wings is a must have item for trick art museum. So they are also a must pose item for us too. My pose like spider man hanging on the wall it’s pretty hard to do, but i glad I can make the pose well, and it’s quite real for me, except the hair that fall toward the wall. Big Sis also pose beautifully with a boat in Venice painting. Lying down in the floor to pose with so big foot painting is quite fun right. ^^
59

The tiring one is when I must hanging on a log,  It’s so tiring and hard to do, you can see the result in my picture above, when I hug a log and there is a monster trying to get me. The wall climbing is also tiring, because I must lying down on the floor. But as long as I can get a good picture, I think the effort is not useless.  My picture below is when we in Provence Art Theme. Cute right.60

For Me, The most fun theme and the most tiring theme is Trick Art. You must make extra effort to take a picture that because if you want to blend well with the picture or painting, you must pose like suggested pose that always hanging beside the object. Object Art is also hard too, but Alive Museum is the most fun and interesting museum that I have visited. Two thumbs up for anyone that has idea to make this kind of museum.

When we finish our tour at this museum, we start feeling hungry. We need a proper food right now. We decided to go to city and find any restaurant that sell some seafood, In Jeju of course we must eat seafood. We think in our way back to hotels, we sure we will pass a restaurant. But, the road lead us too so dark road, with no building on left or on our right sides. We keep go and never find one. We drive for a long time, until we find a couple of restaurant. But the building is so fancy, we are afraid the price will be so expensive. And then we find a bbq restaurant near the fancy restaurant. We are really hungry so forget about the seafood, this Bbq restaurant seems delicious.

61

We quite shock when read the menu. They sell the pork in Kg, and for 4 people they suggest us to  buy 1 Kg meat. And what we got is what you can see on picture above. So big meat. Quite expensive too, because of the big meat. But we got plenty side dish, they gave us kimchi jigae, and tofu soup. and the other side dish that will completed our pork bbq. So, with the price and what we got, i thin it’s worth. The ahjumma also so helpful, she helped us to cook the pork, even teach us how to make a delicious bossam (meat wrap with leaves) , even make one for Miss Pepz.62 63

This dinner is the best dinner I got in Jeju, the quantity of meat really satisfied me. the quality of the meat and the side dish also took me to heaven. It’s really delicious. The fire from the grill also warm our cold body. So comfy eat here. The ahjumma is really nice too. We took a picture with her before we going home.

So, this is the end of our 4th day. After we finish eating, we going back to our hotel. Cleaning our body, and go straight to sleep to welcome the other day tomorrow with 100% charged body.

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 5(JEJU) – Cheonjiyeon Waterfall , Soesokkak Estuary, Seopjikoji , Seongsan Ilchulbong

$

Well, this post is about our 5th days in South Korea. Still at jeju island, we will continue our last day at Jeju today, tommorow early in the morning, we will fly to Seoul. We will go to waterfall today. We choose Cheonjeyeon waterfall, because there are angel bridge there. But somehow we arrived at Cheonjiyeon waterfall. We even don’t know what the difference, the name is almost same, so we think cheonjiyeon and cheonjeyeon is same. But when we arrived we didn’t find the bridge, so we draw a conclusion that we arrived at wrong place. But fortunately it’s fun in Cheonjiyeon, a festival is being held there when we come, so there are so many performance and of course so many food.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall

We rely on GPS to brought us to this waterfall. It’s really hard to find parking place, so crowded. later we know there is a festival there, so that’s why so many people gathered there. We find a place to park our car quite far for the entrance. So, we walk a little bit to go to the entrance. The entrance is same with the other tourist place, there are souvenir shop and a lot of food stall.
When we arrived we know, why it’s so hard to park here, because the main parking area is already change to a stage for festival. They held tangerine festival there. So we find abig stage, and a lot of stand for bazaar. So crowded. But it bring happiness to us, I will tell you why soon.
We find a toilet in the entrance, so we finish our nature calling first and start our journey to the waterfall. The toilet is clean , I find mostly toilet in tourist area in South Korea is clean, so It’s comfortable to doing our business there. I just disappointed with toilet in subway, I found something float there, and because of that I never go to toilet in subway again.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall – Path to waterfall

Cheonjiyeon waterfall located in Seogwipo. Cheonjiyeon  meaning “God’s pond,” derives its name from the legend that the seven fairies serving the King of Heaven came down to the pond on stairs of cloud and bathed in its clean waters. We paid 2000 KRW each person for admission fee. We will walk along the subtropical path towards the Cheonjiyeon Falls for a kilometer. There are so many beautiful thing around the path. So beatifuk scenery, so make sure your camera is ready. Before you arrive at the fall you will be able to hear the magnificent sound of waterfalls. and after you arrive you will be little bit confused, because there are too many people there, how we will get a good photo here. So, we took a deep breath first enjoy the beauty scenery. And then queue with other tourist to stand for a good place to take a picture with the fall.

We tried so hard to make  our picture like this. without no one in the background. Believe me , this place is so packed, so many people go there. The rainbow beneath the falls is so cool right.

4

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall – path when going back from waterfall

This place is so beautiful. beside the falls we can find stream, flower, great place for enjoy the nature and scenery. Hearing the sound of water flow, bird, and wind blowing is so breathtaking. We enjoy the nature very well here.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall – Tangerine Festival

After enjoy the falls, we went back to parking area and start to enjoy the festival. So many performance, singing, dancing, percussion, and many more. A lot of people sat doen in the chair that provided to enjoy the performance. But we are more into the bazaar. We took our time to walk around the stall. There are some stall that sell bee house, sell tools for process the honey from the bee house, sell ginseng, tangerine, honey, and a lot of thing there. But the most interesting place is, a stall that give us free bulgogi. First we think they sell it, but suddenly we aware that it was free. So, we quickly join the other free food hunter to queue in front of the stall. they gave us a paper cup, and filled it full with meat. And the taste is so delicious. After we finish ther first batch, we queue again to get another cup full of meat. Nyam Nyam. Beside this free meat, we also find free tangerine, free honey water, so many free thing here. That’s why we love it so much. Maybe it’s gift from god, we went to wrong place but we still got a lot.

8

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall – Food Hunter mode at Tangerine Festival

Beside free food, we also interested with another food sold there. So first, from our curiousity we bought Bundaegi (silkworm pupa). My first impression when it’s going to my mouth is, what is this, I eat cockroach or what? then i picked one that sunken well in the soup, it didint feel like cockroach but I don’t like the taste. It’s weird i think. An Ahjumma asked us how the taste, it’s delicious right. We just gave her a smile. We got a cup full of Bundaegi but we throw it away, maybe 4 of us just eat one each people to decide that we don’t like this thing. I wonder why a lot of Korean like this so much.
I also bought corn dog. It is a sausage cover with flour ans potatoes, and cover with some chili sauce outside. I don’t like it, it’s gross, to many oil in the cover, But the sausage is good. We bought a grill squid too. The squid is pretty big, and when the Ahjumma grilled it, the smell is outstanding. it’s good and we finished it so fast as fast as we thrown the Bundaegi.
Miss pepz also bought grilled octopus, but unfortunately i didn’t take a photo of it, so I can show you. But it’s taste good too. We already tried that when we was at Busan. The octopus leg is delicious. Eat it when you find it.

Beach near Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍)

After we finish our culinary eperience and full with a lot of snack we ate. We decided to move on to another place. Located in the Seogwipo area of Jeju Island, Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍) was originally called ‘Soedun’, which means a lying down ox, and it was only later that it became more widely known as ‘Soesokkak’. This is the mouth of the Hyodoncheon stream. As the fresh water meets the ocean, it broadens into wide slow flowing river. ‘Soe; means an ox, ‘so’ means a ‘pool of water’ and ‘Kkak means ‘the end’. Soesokkak Estuary is lined with cliffs of curious lava formations, which are overhung with pine trees. Here the water takes on the deep blue of the ocean, and the scenery is very picturesque

10

Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍)

I know this place form Variety show – We Got Married. In one of  Khuntoria (Nickhun “2pm” and Victoria “f(x)” episode, they went to date in this place. They used see through canoe so we can see river bed while sail through the river. Beside canoe, they have water bicycle too. We want to play, but the price is quite expensive, so we just stand in the observatory and see people play happily.

11

Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍)

We find a place selling food. They sell tteokboki, ice cream, potato twister, chicken popcorn, and another food. Miss Pepz bought the popcorn chicken, The taste is like chicken with teokbokki sauce, not so yummy.

12

Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍) – Food hunter mode #again (tteokbokki)

13

A place near Soesokkak Estuary (쇠소깍)

Our next destination is Seopjikoji, it’s famous with the church for shoot K-Drama All in. All in is a old K drama, I watched in when I really really young. But we are dissapointed, the church turn into Hansel n Gretel sweet house. For you All In Fans, if you go here with expectation want to see the church, you will really sad I think. Actually the sweet house is good too, I think they renovate the old church into sweet house to attract more tourist but i think if they stick to the church and just renovate it to make it better is better than change it into the sweet house. Oh yeah, we must pay if we want to go inside the house.

14

Seopjikoji (섭지코지) – All in House turn into Hansel n Gretel house ;(

Although we was disappointed with all in house, we still happy there. At least the view is so great. Along side the path to all in house you can find Ilalang, of course as Ilalang lovers, we stop to pose with them. After find the sweet house, we keep going up. The view is great here, next to us is cliff, so we can see sea and sky unite in horizon. Check our photo bellow.

Seopjikoji (섭지코지)

From Seopjikoji, we went to Seongsan Ilchulbong. Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak rose from under the sea in a volcanic eruption over 100,000 years ago. There is a huge crater at the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak. The crater is about 600m in diameter and 90m high.Seongsan Ilchulbong is one of UNESCO World Heritage and as I know it’s one of 7 nature wonder of the worlds. We must paid 2000 KRW for admission fee. This place is a must to go place if you go to Jeju. So it’s full of tourist. luckily the parking area is big, so we easily park our car.
As always, in front of tourist attraction, there is always souvenir shop and food shop. We just stop at the food stall to buy some bottle of water for our dried throat. At first we decided to climb until reach the peak. But we found that it’s very tiring, so after he first observatory , we stop, and just enjoy the scenery from there. maybe we already drained our energy for too much walking before, so it’s really tiring, we can not hike higher.

20

Stairway to the peak, there is a lot of stairs and made us give up until reached the 1st observatory. The picture in the upper right is when we rested in 1st observatory, catching our breath. Luckily the view is marvelous.

When we going down from the observatory, we took our time to pose a picture in the grass. Actually we are not sure if we could enter thee grass or not. because actually no one there. Until we find some people sit there , so we just followed them and took some photo there. But no one scold us, so I think step n the grass is permitted here.

Well, I think I already write a lot of line in this post. So I will continue my 5th day in South Korea in next post. Stay tune ya. ^^

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 5(JEJU) – Dongmun Market , Isaac Toast, Burim Land Jimjilbang

$

Still at Day 5 and still in Jeju, from Seongsan Ilchubong we went to fill out hungry stomach. We go to market, Dongmun Market. With the GPS, it’s so easy to reach the market. The hard place is to find a parking area. Thanks for the GPS, the also showed us the parking area, but we must went to several place, before we find empty parking area. I think the land is owned by locals, so there are an Ahjussi sit in a small hut in corner of the parking area, he is a keeper of this parking area, so we must get the parking ticket from him first before leave our car park there.
At that time, we want to do our business, so we start to find where is the toilet. we entered the 1st mart we find, and she pointed to us the nearest toilet. It’s located in front of government office. The toilet is clean, the problem is there is no tissue, so prepare it by yourself ya.

25

Dongmun Market

26

Dongmun Market – Welcome sign

We entered the market and amazed with a lot of shop sell orange there, so range and neatly form a line. We walked inside and see fish shop, they sell sashime there, shrimp, squid, abalone. We found some shop sell vegetable, kimchi shop, they sell a lot of type of kimchi. Some shop sell dried fish, household appliances, clother, I think it’s simmilar with Indonesia market. They also sell food there. And the main reason we go to this market is for market food. It’s pretty hard to find, we choose the wrong way, so we didn’t find any food stall. When we find one, we entered  it directly.

27

Dongmun Market

The food stall sell tteokboki and friends. At first we bought kimbap, sundae, gyoza, and tteokbokki, to share for four of us. But next we bought oden too. The price is not expensive, so we eat a lot, we even bought another kimbap after we finish the first. Kimbap is 1500 KRW, oden 2000 KRW, gyoza 2000 KRW, tteokbokki 3000 KRW, sundae 3000 KRW. Oh yeah, the water is free flow here. we just need to wal to the dispenser.

28

Food Menu

29

Kimbap – 1500 KRW

30

Sundae – 3000 KRW

I don’t really like sundae. I think the texture is weird. the taste also weird too. Sundae is a Korean dish made generally by boiling or steaming cow or pig’s intestines that are stuffed with with cellophane noodles (dangmyeon), barley, and pork blood. It served with pork liver and salt.

31

Gyoza – 2000 KRW

32

tteokboki – 3000 KRW

33

Oden – 2000 won

We almost bought all menu is that food stall. The most I like is kimbap, then oden because it’s pretty cold outside, so the soup make me feel warm. Beside that, the soup is free flow, we can ask for more. But the sundae is not my style I think. Miss pepz like it, especially the liver, but even in my hometown i rarely eat innards, so it’s really not my style.

From our research before we go to Korea, we found a lot of people post in their blog about Isaac toast. So we interest to buy and try it too, because it sound yummy. In our way going back from Dongmun market to parking area, we founs Isaac toast. So, we buy it. The stall is just small stall, there are just 2-3 chairs inside the store, and there is just 2 people that work there, 1ahjuhmma and 1 young lady. Ahjumma charge for prepare the toast, and the young lady charge for wrapped it, cleaning, and prepare the ingredient for ahjumma.

34

Isaac Toast

35

Isaac Toast – Process order

It’s easy to order here, because the menu is in English. But it’s confusing because there is too many menu, so hard to choose one from them.

36

Isaac Toast – step by step

37

Isaac Toast – the result

The taste is quite good, but i think is not really special. Just like the other sandwich. But it’s fresh because we order and they cook in front of us. So it’s still hot and because I eat it in the middle of autumn night. It’s become some kind of comfort food i think. But I don’t think I will stop again to another issac toast stall to buy another toast. I prefer another korean street food I think. Anyway, there are a lot of  branch of this toast, you can find it everywhere in Seoul.

Our last activity in Jeju is Jimjilbang. Jimjilbang is a 24-hour, gender-segregated bathhouses featuring relaxing hot and cold soaking pools, bathing and massage areas, various saunas, entertainment lounges, and communal sleeping rooms. We already in Korea, so of course we want to experience how local do, and jimjilbang is one of them. We decided to sleep in the jimjilbang one night before our flight to Seoul next morning. We decided to go to Burim Land – Jimjilbang because it is near from the airport. We will have early flight next morning, so we are afraid we can not return the car, because maybe the rental is not open yet, so we decided to go to Jimjilabnag first, me and Big Sis with all of our luggage is the first to enter the jimjilbang, while Miss Pepz and Adams return the car.
We check in first, We paid 9000 KRW for bath and we can use communal area, but if you just want to take a bath then it will be cheaper. there are locker inside the jimjilbang, but our luggage is too big, so we just entrusted it to receptionist, she help us to save our luggage in the office. Big Sis and I entered the jimjilbang. Burim land has 3 floor, 1dt floor for Woman bathroom, 2nd floor for man bathroom, and the last is for communal area. When we enter the woman area, there are alot of shoes locker, choose one, and save your locker, lock the locker, and dont forgeet to get the key. After that you will enter the room where all naked woman will pass over and over again in front of you without feeling awkward.
We got a shirt and a pant in orange colour for us to wear in communal area. We also got some towels, maybe 3 or 4 towels and a locker key, to save our clothes and our belongings.it’s really shocked me, how with confident to the max a lady walk naked in front of me, even a group of them while chatting each other. Cultural shocked, panic attack attaked me. So Big Sis and I just walk calmly to our locker. We must take a bath because we feel so sweaty and dirty, so we really use our rhino skin. Naked in front of locke, bring our toiletries and trying to cover our private area with the towel and enter the bath room. The bath area is so big, there are some shower, some sitting shower, some sauna room, some hot tube and cold tube. The hot tube has different temperature. I didn’t try to enter the hot tube, I just clean myself in shower. After that I quickly dried my self, use the clothes and pamper my self while waiting Miss pepz return from airport. After Miss Pepz is return, she decided not to take a bath bacause there are some group of tourist from China invaded the jimjilbang. So Miss pepz was little bit shy with a lot of people there and then We directly going upstairs after Miss Pepz finish changes her clother into jimjilbang clothes. We wait Mr Damz in front of Food stall in 3rd floor. There is a TV there. Not so long Mr Dams showed up and said he dizzy to see a lot of man naked, he even showed up with wet hair, too dizzy too dried his hair first.

38

Jimjilbang – Burim land – Sikhye , ramen Cup, boiled Egg

We ordered a cup ramen, a cup of sikhye, and 4 boiled egg. They sell a lot of food, like mandu, nengmyeon, porridge, but we still full of market shopping, so we just buy this. Sikhye is so good, must buy item in Jimjilbang. We even bought it again next morning when we wake up. Sikhye is a traditional sweet Korean rice beverage, usually served as a dessert. In addition to its liquid ingredients, sikhye contains grains of cooked rice

39

Jimjilbang -Burim Land , Alkaggi, Salt room

After eat, we found  alkaggi board there. So we took it to our table and played it. And make a little Alkaggi championship there. Of course I win. Hahahaha. After tired play, and we must wake up early, so we went to communal room, and tried to salt sauna room, but it’s too hot so we just took a photo there and leave. We secure spot in a dark corner, secure some mattress, and sleep. If you want to sleep in jimjilbang, you must sleep before the other sleep, because after other sleep it will be hard to sleep , because the snore sounds will reverberate all over the room. And you also make sure you sleep in jimjilbang near your friend, because it will be full with drunk people. So it think it will be safe with your friend beside you.

So this is my 5th day. Too many nature exploration and try street food. But it’s extremely fun. Wait for our stories in Seoul in our next post. Thanks for reading.

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 6(SEOUL) – First step in Seoul , Tosokchon

If you read my last post, I already tell you that we stay overnight at Jimjilbang. We didn’t get a good sleep there, but at least we got good experience.  We had flight in the morning, so we woke up early that day. Start with Miss Pepz, she woke up 4 am in the morning, she enjoy bathing alone, and dip her body in the hot tube without anybody see her. I woke up around 5 am and didn’t find Miss Pepz and Big Sis; I guessed they already went down stairs. I saw Mr. Damz still sleeping there; I let him sleep more because I thought it’s too early to wake up him. So I woke up and went down. I found Miss Pepz and Big Sis sat while watched television. Miss Pepz already took a bath.  So I decided to prepare myself too. I didn’t shower today. I already clean my self tomorrow night, so I just wash my face and brush my tooth. And then I followed Miss Pepz and Big Sis watching TV. We bought ramen cup to fill our cold stomach. After we finished, we checked Mr. Damz. He was ready too. So we met at the receptionist. Yesterday, we asked the receptionist to call a taxi for us. Thankfully she is so helpful, the taxi comes in time and we directly went to airport.

Flight Jeju - Seoul this picture make me think I already leave earth atmosphere

this picture make me think I already leave earth atmosphere

We use Jeju air to go to Seoul. The best price we could get at that time. We checked in and time showed us we has plenty time to find breakfast first. So we go to the food court and eat there. Because it’s still in the morning, there were not so many people. There are only some airport officer, stewardess and steward eating there. We ordered pork rice and seafood ramyeon. The taste is good, but lacks something I think. It’s like Korean food in Indonesia, lack of Korean taste but still good.

After we eat we go the waiting room and not for so long our plane is took off with us inside went to Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, our last city in South Korea. We arrived at Seoul, and it’s time for us to find our apartment. But first, we went to buy T-money first. We ask information and she told us we can buy it in the mart, she showed us the way. As I remember the name is GS-25, we bought 4 T-Money there and filled the balance up to 20,000 KRW. It’s so easy to buy although the shopkeeper can speak English, but at least he understands what I want. Btw, we found our apartment at airbnb.com, out host is Suhee, she already sent us tutorial how to go to her apartment from airport. But we totally forgot to tell her that we will arrive in Gimpo Airport not in Incheon airport. She thought that we will arrive in Incheon, so the tutorial is totally wrong. We completely confused. We asked the information, and they suggested us to find a taxi. So, we looked for jumbo taxi, and find them queue inline in front of arrival gate. So we took one, fortunately the driver ahjussi is so kind. He can talk in English little; he even helped us call Suhee with his phone to make sure where the apartment is. And we arrived safely in Suhee’s apartment. It’s not check in time, so when we entered the room, it’s still messy from last tenant. Suhee already told us before, that we only can drop our luggage because the check in time is at 2 in the afternoon, but we arrived around 12 pm. So, after drop our luggage we went to our 1st destination.

Actually our apartment is near Gyeongbokgung. So we decided to go to Gyeongbokgung, Gwanghwamun, and Cheonggyecheon stream today. But before we start our tourist mode, we change into food hunter mode first, finding the legendary ginseng chicken aka Samgyetang, Tosokchon. I bet most of Korean lover know this restaurant. It’s the first time we feel confused to find way in South Korea. In Busan we have Sung oppa, and in Jeju the GPS really help us. Now it’s the time for the true adventures. We turn on the google maps and start to walk, went to the left and at the end we were confused. So we asked a girl in a bus stop. She doesn’t speak English well, but we know that we must go to the right side not the left side. So we said thank you and turn around. We found some man in suits, we asked them, but it’s so hard, they even didn’t try to explain us with English but because they know we don’t understand Korea, they tried to explain with their body language, so confusing. We start walk again and fortunately met with a woman (so stylist woman, with hip hop style) and she speak English well. Thanks God because of her we could find Tosokchon. If you see a long queue in front of Korean house style, it’s Tosokchon.

Tosokchon

Tosokchon

But, we are too tired and too hungry to wait but the queue is so damn long, so we just stand and while do some chit-chat we took a photo too. We waited around 30 minutes, and got the table. I really surprised when entered the place. It’s so big inside, so many tables; you can get a table with chair, or table with cushion. Actually we cannot choose chair or cushion, because of it’s so packed with customer, just accept where is table they showed us. We got table with cushion in so remote area. As we sit, they gave us a menu and a ginseng tea (we think it ginseng tea, but from what I read it’s ginseng soju). The ginseng drink taste is so strong, but really makes us warm after standing outside so long. Their main menu is Samgyetang, but they sold other thing like Pajeon. Here is the menu.

Tosokchone's Menu

Tosokchon

We read from some blog that in Korea, we must order food as many as the people. If you are 4 so you must order 4 portions. But 1 portion of Samgyetang is 1 whole chicken with rice inside, ginseng, Chinese dates, and many other things. Hmmm, can we finish it? We saw our next table, they just 4 tiny girl, from japan I think. They ate 1 bowl each, and nearly finished it but didn’t show it’s so hard thing to do. So we decided to order 4 too. We order 1 Samgyetang and 1 black chicken Samgyetang. 1 portion of Samgyetang is 15,000 KRW and the black is 22,000 KRW.

In each table, there is a jug filled with radish kimchi, salt and pepper, and they also gave us a pitcher of water. We can take the kimchi as much as we want, and ask again if it run out. The Samgyetang is arrived. It’s so healthy food, from the first sip I taste, the soup is so healthy, and the meat is tender, so easy to eat. The ginseng is so big and not bitter. The chicken is filled with ginseng, chest nut, jujube, garlics, ginger, allay, perils seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seed, nuts, pine nut, black sesame, and etc. So delicious, if somebody asks me what I should eat in Seoul, I will say Tosokchon. And I prefer the original Samgyetang, not the black chicken. Because it’s cheaper and the taste is same. But they said the black chicken is more nutritious. But with ginseng and the other herbs I think we already eat enough nutritious even in white chicken Samgyetang.

Tosokchon - Samgyetang

Tosokchon – Samgyetang

After we finished eat. We go to our main attraction today. Gyeongbokgung is the main palace in Korea. In our way to Gyeongbokgung, we find the true autumn here. The leaves are so yellow, so beautiful we never see something like this before. As tropical country citizen, we can just found green and brown leaves in our home. The bright yellow leaves are so beautiful. We find some in Busan, but not so many like in Seoul. It makes me falling in love with autumn. It is so great.

Continue my story Autumn in Korea, this post is about what we did in Seoul. This is our 1st day in Seoul but already 6th day we are in South Korea. We already falling in love with South Korea, the food, the culture, the scenery, and Seoul made us love autumn and Korea more. It’s a big city with so many thing there. In metropolitan area, it’s hard for us to find a good tourist spot, with culture and nature combine well. But in Seoul they maintain their culture and their legacy so well. Their heritage is still standing in the right place magnificently, maybe it is not exactly same with what it is in their glorious day. But at least Korean try really hard to keep it alive. In this aspect I think Indonesia need to  learn from South Korea. Because I believe Indonesia have a lot of things to be showed off to other people too.

9

Gyeongbokgung area – love yellow tree

10

Gyeongbokgung Area – Seeing full yellow tree like this, pose with it is a must I think.

Well, after we ate, we go to Gyeongbokgung. It’s not hard to find it, because it’s so big, we find the wall first and keep walking side by side with the wall until we found the gate. We entered from side gate, not the main gate. The first thing we saw is, there is a big tree, with all leaves in yellow. Beautiful. There is a wedding photo session in that place too. We start to walk to the main entrance from there, in our path I met a moslem man pray “sholat” under a tree. Amazing right, some people said it’s hard to pray in other country, it’s hard to find the right place, but I mean every religion believe God is everywhere right, as long as we really mean it, I think everywhere you pray , no matter what people will say, God will never reject your prayer.

11

Gyeongbokgung

We went straight to the main entrance, and buy ticket to the locket. We plan to go to all palace, so we buy integrated ticket palace. The price is 10,000 KRW and we can used it for enter 4 palaces (Changdeokgung Palace (including Huwon, Secret Garden), Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Gyeongbokgung Palace) and Jongmyo Shrine. But if you just want visit Gyeongbokgung, you can buy ticket 3,000 KRW for it. We want to attend English tour, but we arrived too soon. So we took a walk by our self first.

12

Gyeongbokgung – (Left to right) 1st picture – I really like the leaves color. 2nd Picture – it’s actually a ditch, full of water in its era. 3rd picture – I really like pillars, and somehow full of mysterious aura

13

Gyeongbokgung – Love the color and how nice the window and door neatly arranged

14

Gyeongbokgung – King’s meeting room

When the time nearly arrive, we go to in front of the information center at Heungnyemun Gate  waiting for tour guide. The English tour will star at 15.30 and the duration is 1 – 1,5 hours.  The tour start on time. Our tour guide is a woman, she used hanbok and brought a little umbrella with her. She also used mic so we can hear her clearly. She start told us about gyeongbokgung and how hard their effort to restore all the building in the palace. They have target to finish restore it as soon as possible, when I went there they are in the middle restoring the kitchen palace.

15

Gyeongbokgung – English Tour

From the meeting point , she lead us to enter the palace. Explain to us each building in the palace. The interior, the painting, and the history about the palace. She also told us the detail about this palace, there are a path in this palaca that connected all place from Main gate. The path divided into 3  columns, the midle one is King’s path, only Kingcan walk in that path. Minister, officer, even the queen and the prince can not walk in the  midle. Even for the door, King has special door for him,the biggest door is King’s door. So, if you want have a bit taste become a King, just walking in the midle path. ^_^

She also told us about South Korea and North Korea. Her father from North, his parents, brother and sister still in the North, since the war , he has never seen his family again. So sad right. He even doesn’t know when his parent died or his family still alive or not. The war really dissociate them with their family and friends. They hope North and South will be united someday.

(Top) Interior King’s meeting room – made by gold if I am not wrong. (Bottom) Pavilion, King’s best place to refresh his mind I think

18

Love the autumn leaves so much

FYI, in Gyeongbokgung, the toilet is pretty good I think. The roof is same with the palace roof, from outside it’s blend well with palace environment. Inside is clean too, But please bring your own tissue. Our photo above is near the toilet. When wait our member finish their things to do, we took a photo, snap snap snap.

19

When the palace guard change shift. it’s interesting too watch, but we couldn’t because we still inside palace, and the procession held outside. So we just saw it from a wall ventilation.

From Gyeongbokgung, we went to Gwanghwamun Square to see King Sejong statue and admiral Yi Sun Sin.  In Gwanghawun square, I find so many plant, nice color, brighten our evening.

20

Gwanghwamun decoration

Behind King Sejong Statue, there are a door into museum, I don’t know what the museum is, maybe King Sejong museum, because it fill out with King Sejong stories and Yi Sun Sin stories. We can see how King Sejong create hangul (Korean Alphabet), how he interested with astronomy, how Yi Sun Sin win all of his battle with his unique ship. It’s not too big, but we can learn a lot there, so if you visit gwanghwamun, You should visit this museum, at least you can take a photo in King throne.

From Gwanghwamun Square, we took a walk to Cheonggyecheon Stream. This stream like Ciliwung stream in Jakarta, it cross Seoul like Ciliwung cross some part of Jakarta. Formerly, Cheonggyecheon same with Ciliwung, so dirty, so many illegal houses. But the mayor turn it into so bautiful stream, and make it become place you must visit if you are in Seoul. The water is not irty anymore, and become really clean and fresh, even in summer we canplay water there, like we play water at river in a village. The mayor did a good job I think, and if I not wrong, the mayor get the best mayor award in the world and become president right know. But I don’t really sure about president thing. Sorry >_<

In autumn – winter , there are lantern Festival here. When we come unfortunately, the festival is didn’t start yet. We find a lot of lanterns that already ready there, but the lanterns is not lit yet. So, we asked someone that I think the officer, because he in the middle made something for the lantern. And he said, comeback 2 or 3 days later.  Mr Damz challenged us to deep our foot to the stream, the water is so cold in autumn night. So at first we didn’t want to do that, but he tried it, and look at his expression, I really curious about it, so Miss Pepz, Big Sis and I tried it too. It’s cold, but still bearable. So refreshing too.

Deep your foot please

We are hungry now. We find a pizza restaurant, Mr. Pizza. So we entered that place, we were curious with pizza in korean. Fortunately the waiter can speak english well, and handsome too, nice body and nice face. So, we could order easily. We ordered 2 pizza, cheeze pizza and mushroom meat pizza. The gave us a bowl of pickle too. We asked for the chili sauce and tomato sauce, but they only has tabasco. This restaurant has buffet salad bar. But i think 2 pizza for 4 people is more than enough, because it’s so big. The taste is good, we can see the cheese cove the pizza very well, the dough not too thick, so, it’s delicious. But I never can eat a lot pizza, so it’s really hard for us to finished it.

After eat, we went directly to our apartment. We already exhausted today. So we need take a rest plenty before continue our journey in Seoul. This is a glimpse of our apartment. we rent it via airbnb, out host name is Suhee. She is kind and helpful. it has 2 queen size bed, and 1 sofa bed. The apartment is spacios, we can freely move without bump with other. There is kitchen, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, so you can cook if you want. the bathroom is also clean, with a lot of clean towel, and you can use soap and shampoo freely. I will tell it more next time.

Autumn in Korea – Day 7 (Seoul) – Blue House “Cheongwadae” , Jongmyo Shrine

$

Today we will go to Cheong Wa Dae or known as Blue House (청와대). It’s called Blue House because it has blue roof. Simple right. Cheong wa dae is presidential residence, it’s like White House in USA, or Istana Negara in Indonesia.  It’s open to public, so tourist can go there, with reservation before, tourist will be guided in groups and will be taken around the place. We were really curious about cheong wa dae, so we decided to take the tour. We reserved the tour via web. you can check it here. Foreigner must be reserved the tour at least 3 weeks before. We must enter our personal information like name and passport number correctly, because it will be checked and if we make a mistake, we can not enter the tour.

Cheong Wa Dae "Blue House"

Cheong Wa Dae “Blue House”

We took the first tour that day at 10.00 am. We are told to gather at East Gate of Gyeongbokgung. So, after we took our breakfast today, we walked there. Yesterday we already checked where is the East Gate when we were in Gyeongbokgung, so it’s easy for us to find it today. Well, we ate our breakfast at our apartment. We found a nice homey restaurant in our apartment. So we just entered and order some food. At first we just want to try, but the food is good there, so we become regular right away. We eat there every morning and if we feel hungry in the night, we usually go there to eat. The food is nice and the restaurant is comfy too.

First, the gave us banchan. We got kimchi, danmuji (yellow pickle radish), salad, and lotus root in soy sauce. In Korea, most restaurant provide free drink, they provide a drink water dispenser, and clean silver glass beside the dispenser. So the guest can take the water by their self. This is the great part of eat in Korea, free water, refill as you can. I always took my bottle empty and fill the water in restaurant where we eat. At least I save my money for drink. Hahahaha.

We ordered Mandu Ramyeon, Budae Ramyeon, and Sundubu jigae. The price is so cheap. Its just 5,000 KRW a portion. Mandu Ramyeon consist of mandu and ramyeon, it’s so delicious. Budae ramyeon has kimchi, spam, sausages, mandu, eomuk and of course ramyeon. it’s delicius too, but because it add kimchi inside, the soup taste more rich and i think little bit sour than the mandu ramyeon. We got a bowl of rice with sundubu jigae. Sundubu jigae is tofu stew with a little bit seafood inside and egg. It’s so tasy I think, it’s the best breakfast I had in Korea. The tofu is so nutty, the soup is so great, not so spicy and refreshing. Our first impression with this restaurant is really really extraordinary, that’s why we keep eat there for our breakfast. Wait for another story about our breakfast here ya.

Back, to Cheon Wa Dae story. We go to East Gate, and we walked into the park area, and found a little booth with Cheong Wa Dae in it’s wall. So we walked there and showed them our reservation and our passport. All the officer is in suit,  I think they are like “Paspampres” in Indonesia,  the presidential guard. They can speak English well and so friendly. When one of them know we are from Indonesia, He talked to us with Bahasa, just a simple one like “Apa Kabar”, “Terima Kasih”, and he said to us that he ever go to Indonesia, he guarded the Korea President when she visit Indonesia before.

Waiting Room

Waiting Room – There are some children follow this tour, but I guess they are in School event so, they just took a bus with us but the tour is different.

After registrated our reservation, we waited for a while. There are a waiting room there. All visitor sit there while waiting for the right time to enter the Cheong Wa Dae. Not too long, the bus is come, the guard asked us to enter the bus. We enter one by one, show our ticket and our passport the the guard. We ride a bus from Gyeongbokgung to Cheong Wa Dae. Actually, it’s not too far. But I guess we can not go near the Cheong Wa Dae alone, it’s too secured. SO many guard with gun in hand. When we arrived, we queue to enter the cheongwadae. Our bag will be checked, and we will walked throught metal detector. It’s a protocol for safety reason I think. So many paspampres there. They gave us a visitor nametag, and for foreigner they gave us a player that contains description of the places we will be visited. The player has a number, so when we are in 1st place, we can press number 1, and the player will play an explanation about that place for us in English.

Before we started the tour officially. They gathered us in an small auditiorium. They played a video that explain the palace and the president in general. They gave us instruction how to follow the tour safely, the rules, and gave us a souvenirs. We got a Korean style wallet as souvenirs. We met a Korean ahjussi too  in the auditorium, he is sat beside me, and asked me where I come from, and he curious with the player that we get as foreigner. He is Korean but so good in English, because he usually go to another country for business. He accompanied us during the tour.

9

Nokjiwon – Beatiful Place with autumn feel

From the auditorium, we were taken to a big yard. We follow a tour guide, and we are followed by some guard, maybe to make sure we don’t go anywhere that prohibited. The guide is talked in Korean, so maybe that’s why foreigner need the player. The first place is a big yard that has a big tree. The yard is called Nokjiwon and the tree is 310 years old. Then we were taken too the real Blue House, we didn’t entered the Blue House, we just see the Blue house afar, but we can took photo of the Blue house. At that time, I feel weird. I never took a photo with Istana Negara, never go inside there, but where I am now, in another country Istana Presiden. Hahaha.

"The Last" Place of the Cheong Wa Dae Tour

“The Last” Place of the Cheong Wa Dae Tour (Pardon my Face)

I don’t know the name of this building. Our player is taken when we arrived this place, I didn’t know what the guard said, but some foreigner said that this is the last place, so we must return the player. So I returned it, but I forgot to play the explanation about this place, so I don’t know about this place. But, as I remember the interior inside is really glamorous with big lamp.

Pose with Friendly Ahjussi

Pose with Friendly Ahjussi – To recall memories we took a photo with Ahjussi. He even gave us his name card and asked us to send him the photo. We actually really surprised when we take a look the name card, because actuallt he is a director in multinational company. That’s why he usually has businness trip to anothe country.

From this place, we go out form the Cheong Wa Dae, but in the exit gate, the tour guide asked the visitor. She asked with Korean, so we didn’t understand, but ahjussi told us the tour guide asked the visitor if they want to see the last building, it’s outside the Cheong Wa Dae, but it’s really close. If we want to see, we must follow the tour guide, but if we don’t want to see, the tour is overed. So we decided to follow, with some tourist too. So, we had to say good bye to ahjussi, because he choose left. The place actually, just beside Cheong Wa Dae, It’s a buiding with KOrean old Style. As I remember, it’s place for King Concubine, But I am not sure too, because the guide talk with Korean.

11

They gathered to hear what the guide said. But because I think it will be useless for me because I can get what she said, so I just took my time to take a photo and enjoy the place.

13

Big Sis asked me to photo her with this tree. I really amazed with how Korean treat their historical heritage, even they support the tree like this.

12

Autumn Feel

From this place, the tour is really over. So as we planned before we must go to Jongmyo Shrine. We were ushered here, but we must go by ourselves, so it’s confusing. We dont know how to find the way to subway station. So, for awhile, we sat in the park in frot of the Cheongwadae Exit Gate. The park is awesome i think, clean and nice. This is the park

Park in front of Cheong Wa Dae

Park in front of Cheong Wa Dae

We asked a guard here where is the nearest subway, but he can not talk in English, so we just follow his hand. We must walked for awhile until we found the subway entrance.

We went to Jongmyo Shrine. Jongmyo Shrine was a primary place of worship for kings throughout Joseon Dynasty. The memorial service, called Jongmyo Jaerye, is said to be the oldest complete ceremony in the world. The ceremony was designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Even today is not Joseon Dynasty anymore, the memorial service still be held. The memorial service is held annualy on the first Sunday of May. Visitors may enter Jongmyo Shrine only in a guided tour group at specific times. I think they want to keep the mystical aura, the function of this shrine, so thats why we can not enter and wandering by ourselves there. Admission Fee is 1000 KRW, but We bought integrated ticket for 4 palace and Jongmyo Shrine (10,000 KRW).

20

Jongmyo Shrine – Entrance Schedule

We arrived early to this place, the English tour star at 14:00 but, we arrived an hour early so, we decided to take a lunch first near this place. And then after see some restaurant, we choose the crowded one. It’s not a big restaurant, but the restaurant is packed with people and the menu also captivated our eyes, so we just park our body there. The owner is old couple, the wife busy to prepare the food, and the husband served the food to customer. When he saw us, he greet us and invited us to sit, but inside is full, so he quickly prepare a table outside, and let us sit there. He is really friendly, even he can not speak English, but he really tried to make us comfortable and enjoyed my food, when we said  “ma-si-sseo-yo “, he smiled really bright. Thanks for your serving sir.

17

The Husband served us the food and drink. I blurred Mr Damz face like criminal here. Hehehe

I ordered Sujebi and the other ordered Tteok Mandu guk. Sujebi is a Korean traditional soup consisting of dough flakes roughly torn by hand, with various vegetables and a little bit clams here. Tteok Mandu guk is soup with tteok (rice cake) that sliced thinly and mandu and they sprinkled nori on top. The portion for both dishes is huge. The taste is delicious and warm soup is great to autumn wether. But it’s hard to eat it all. We got Kimchi for banchan, and it refill. The ahjussi sometime come to us, asked us about the kimchi. The service is “Jjang” right. Hehehe.

18

Sujebi

19

Tteok Mandu guk

Actually, we has a funny story with Jongmyo Shrine and the restaurant ahjussi. But because of that we know that the ahjussi is really kind. So the story is When we finished our tour in Jongmyo Shrine. For your information, the tour is in 1,5 hours. We found the ahjussi waiting dor us in the gate. He waved to us when he saw us from a far. He stood there with a some Jongmyo Shrine officer, and they wave to us too. We go to them, and the restaurant ahjussi gave us a Indonesian Passport. He openned it, and we found Mr. Damz face there. OMG How can he lost it. We guess that the passport fall in Ahjussi restaurant, and he found it when tidy up our table. Restaurant Ahjussi is really kind, he know that we went to Jongmyo Shrine, and He delivered us the passport. He waited for us in the gate. We sincerely feel gratefull to the ahjussi, but like nothing happened, he just smile, nod, and took his bike away. Really kind ahjussi.

22

This is the view that I captured while waiting the tour start.

21

Map of Jongmyo Shrine

23

From Left Top clock wise – The main entrance , The King outfit for memorial service, The palanquin for the King, The square pond with circle inside with tree. There is a specific meaning with the shape, but I don’t understand what the tour guide said, as I remember the pond described the universe, but how it is, I don’t get it.

24

The Main Building – Jeongjeon

The Jeongjeon had 7 rooms, and each room reserved for King and her queen. But  as times goes by, the room is increased. And Jeongjeon become the longest building in Korean tranditional design. The room is added because the number of King is increased and it need anothe room the keep the king and queen tablet. We can not look what inside the room. The room only open when memorial service is held or when they clean the place.

25

3 path. We can not walk in the midle path, because it’s for King and QUeen soul. Human must walk beside it.

I think, if you go to Korea, you must visited this places, Palaces and Jongmyo Shrine. Because we can learned a lot here. Take the tour too, so we can get proper explanation from them. They told us a lot about the history and what the place mean and what the function before. It’s great and fun to know and enjoy the tour. The place is beautiful with a lot of thing that we can see and we can get to know Korean better.

It’s already too long, so I will finshis here, ans continue my story in my next post.

Keep reading guys

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 7 (SEOUL) – Changdeokgung, Gwanjgang Market, Namsan Tower

$

I guess some of you want to know more about my trip in Korea, so with all of my will I try to write this post diligently when office break in Friday. It’s long break because of Friday Prayer. Well, from Jongmyo Shrine we went to Changdeokgung Palace. Changdeokgung Palace was the second royal villa built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung Palace in 1405. It was the principal palace for many kings of the Joseon Dynasty, and is the most well-preserved of the five remaining royal Joseon palaces. The palace grounds are comprised of a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and the rear garden. Changdeokgung Palace was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage site by the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Committee in December of 1997. In Changdeokgung Palce there is a Secret Garden or Huwon. Huwon is the best place for the King and royal family to take a rest from political issues. It’s like place for relaxation, meditation, vacation for them.

The Admission Fee to Changdeokgung is 3000 KRW and for Huwon is 5000 KRW. So if you want to visit both place you must pay 8000 KRW. But if you buy Integrated ticket for 10000 KRW, you will get ticket for Jongmyo Shrine and 4 palaces include Huwon. So better buy Integrated ticket I think. But to enter Huwon, we must follow the tour , we can not enter as we like. There are some session in a days, one session is limited to 100 person. We arrived late there, so no more session for that day, we cannot enter the Huwon, we just see the entrance. *sob *sob

Changdeokgung Palace

Changdeokgung Palace

Changdeokgung is near from Jongmyo Shrine. SO we just took a walk from Jongmyo to Changdeokgung. The path is not too big, but it’s pretty I think. In the side we will see Jongmyo Shrine wall and the other side we will see autumn tree. So pretty I think. After some steps, we found a little park too, it has fitness tools, so we start to use it for a while. Little bit “ndeso” I think, because in my country there is no park like this before. Fortunately we have it now.

Jongmyo to Changdeokgung palace

On The way to Changdeokgung Palace

On The way to Changdeokgung Palace

After arrive at Changdeokgung, we directly went to the entrance and little bit disapointed because we came late, and the English tour is already started and we missed it. We missed the Huwon and we missed the English Tour. What a day. Jongmyo Shrine Tour guide gave us wrong information, She said it will be start at 4 pm, but actually it start at 3.30 pm. So, we decided to walked around by our self, and if we found the English tour group we can just enter the group.

27

The super red tree – What I like the most in Autumn, I can see not green tree.

28

29

Pose before explote the palace.

30

Top to bottom : The Gate , The Yard, The King Throne

Compare to Gyeongbokgung, I think Gyeongbkgung looks more grand than Changdeokgung. The building, the throne, the size. But Chengdeokgung has more unique place inside, like Huwon, and not palace sytle building. In palace mostly the building in red and the shape is symmetric. But here we can find the white building with not symmetric shape.

31

Top (Left and Right) – Heater system, the right one is where we burn the firewood, and the right one is the ventilation for the smoke and the heat run away. Bottom (Left) Big Sis sat resting her foot Bottom(Right) Lil Sis in peace, enjoy the sunset in Changdeokgung Palace

32

Left – Lil Sis, Mr Damz, Miss Pepz rest our foot . Right – Lil Sis with Empty Changdeokgung.

33

Mr Damz backs the Huwon Entrance

Beside Changdeokgung Palace, there is Changgyeonggung Palace. But we are too tired to explore it. And we guess it will be the same with the other. So we decided to go to Gwanjang Market. We are hungry too after a lot of walking today. but actually I regret it, after I read some article about Changgyeonggung, there are a beautiful greenhouse there. It’s like a green house where President snow was imprisoned (If you watch Hunger Games Series I think you know what i mean).

Changdeokgung to Gwangjang Market

Gwangjang Market

It’s not that far from Changdeokgung to Gwanjang Market. You can take a walk if you are not tired, but we are not walker. So we choose to took public transportation to got there. The Gwangjang Market is the nation’s first market. So many things is sold here. you can find  silk, satin, and linen bed-sheet stores, hanbok. But the main reason we went there is the food. So many variety show like running man went to this place. And it’s really make us drooling see them. So, we go there not for buy silk, but for eat. We walked there, and amazed with so many restaurant there. We found the one running man has visited before. They sell Mayak Kimbap. Mayak Kimbap is mini kimbap, rice rolled with nori and filled with some vegetable, sprinkle with sesame oil and sesame seed. So delicious.

34

Mayak Kimbap

35

So many restaurant.

So many restaurant there, they sell bibimbap, bindetteok, tteoknokki, sundae, jeokbal, japchae, soup, pajeon, and many more. Our stomach  start growling inside, so we decided to sit in one of restaurant. The chair is in aluminium foil, and as we seat it become hotter, we realized the chair has heater, that’s why the wrapped it with aluminium foil, for keep the heat. and this is what we ordere.

36

Tteokbokki, Sundae, Jeokbal, Japchae

The taste is so so i think, but the experience is nice. the tteokbokki and the jeokbal is not as delicious as we ate in Busan. but it’s cheaper. As I told you before I don’t like sundae everywhere we ate ther, Miss pepz and Mr Damz finished it all. The japchae is good, but not really special. We ate oden too here, but I didn’t capture it because I am hungry….

After we fill our stomach, we go to Namsan Tower. We will use Cable car to go to the top. So from all browsing and read a lot of blog. the easiest way is we must go to Seoul Station, and from ther we must took a bus to go to Namsan Cable Car. The bus is free, and there is a cable car icon in the bus body. So if you want to ride it too, please look carefully. Don’t ride the number bus like 03, 02, 04, 05 because it’s not go to Namsan Cable Car it go to directly to the Namsan Tower and we must pay when we rode that bus. Actually it will be cheaper ride the numbered bus compared to Cable car, but we just want to try. Hahahaha

The cable car fee is 8500 KRW return trip and 6000 KRW one way. After finish bought the ticket we queue in a line to use Cable car. There a lot of people, but the queue is fast, because the cable car can take a lot of people and the trip is not more than 5 minutes. The view is great from Cable car, please make sure you stand near the wall, so you can see clearly. But if you afraid of height make sure you don’t look down. So many couple go there, so it’s just normal sight when you see some people kiss each other.

37

Cable Car Terminal

39

Pose with Namsan Tower

In Namsan Tower or N Seoul tower, we can see a lot of padlock there. A lot of couple go ther to lock their love there. This tower is famous because this love padlock. You can see a all kind of padlock with a lot of colours here. The sad thing is, it is made by iron, so the old one is become rust and not pretty anymore. Beside the padlock there is a place to write their wish here, it will be write in a panel and it will be taped on the wall. So many couple go here i think.

41

Namsan Tower – N Seoul Tower

40

Left – without flash. Right – With Flash. We can see a pretty colors pad lock there, but the rusty one is a lot too.

42

Night view from N-Seoul Tower.

44

Pavillion

There are a Pavillion in Namsan tower. After we finish our sight seeing there, we sat at the pavilion for a while. We sat there and open our snack. We bought Market O – Real brownie. The packaging is so cute right. But I don’t really like it, too sweet I think. We also bough a bindetteok from gwanjang, and ate it there. maybe because it’s already cool, it’s too oily and I don’t like it too.

43

Snack – Market O real Brownies

We going back rode Namsan Cable Car. But from the terminal there are no Shuttle bus anymore to drive us home. So we asked someone how to go to nearest subway and he just calling an ahjusshi and his wife who talked to him before, and asked them to bring me with them. I guess they want to go to subway too. When we walked down together, we know that the couple is Korean but they live in USA. They were in vacation. After arrive to the subway entrance we departed. We went home directly, too tired to go another place. And that’s it our 7th day is finished.

I will continue our day Korea in my next pose. Stay tune guys.

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 8 (SEOUL) – NAMI ISLAND

$

Finally, I write this post. It’s already so long time since I have written my last post. Too much work, too busy even in the weekend, made me forget about continue my blog about Autumn in Korea. But Today Big Sis suddenly said she miss Korea so much after read this blog. And it make me think maybe I should write again, continue this story, to remind me again about our trip. And I think maybe there is some one that wait my story. Hahahaha.

So, Day 8 is our day to go to Nami Island. I think most of Korean Lover know about this island. So many Korean drama shoot their scenes in this island, romantic island and really famous island. So, Nami Island is must to go place if you visit South Korea.

Autumn in Nami Island

Autumn in Nami Island

Before we start our day, we visit restaurant in our apartment building again. Ahjumma remeber us, so she gave us English menu after saw us enter the restaurant. We decided to order Kimchi Mandu jigae, Pumpkin porridge and fired rice (bokeumbap). Mr. Damz choose to sleep  more that eat breakfast with us, so just me, Big Sis and Miss Peipz ate there. Mr Damz bought samgak kimbap in the convenient store for his breakfast.

1

Kimchi Jigae with mandu

I really like mandu in Korea. Every type of mandu is really delicious. This Kimchi Jigae is little bit sour for me, but not spicy. The jigae come with rice, because the weather is little bit cold, so eating jigae in the morning, warm your body.

2

Pumpkin Porridge

I really curious about pumpkin porridge. I read some blog before and the writer said she love the pumpkin porridge. I even watch or read blog about plastic surgery they said pumpkin porridge good for recovery after surgery. So, you even can find the pumpkin porridge instant in convenient store. So when i see it on the menu, I choose it. But, I think I don’t really like it. It’s too sweet for breakfast and I don’t expect the taste like that. the consistency , the thickness also not that good for me. It’s still edible, but never again for me. Maybe I will eat it if I got plastic surgery, for better and fast recovery. Hahahaha

3

Banchan (Kimchi, tofu, sea weed, pickled radish)

4

Fried Rice (Bokeumbap)

Indonesia is known with Nasi Goreng, but in Korea they know Nasi Goreng as bokeumbap. The presentation it’s not really good, but it feel like home I think, they served it like what we will get at home. They served it with udon soup. The taste is good too. That’s why we became regular of this restaurant. the price is cheap, the taste is goo, the service is good too, even the ahjumma is friendly.

After full, and Mr Damz showed himself . We go to nearest station, to go to Nami Island. So, how to go to Nami Island with subway. First you must find a way to Gyeongchun Line , because to go to Nami Island we must take off in Gapyeong Station, which is located in Gyeongchun Line. From Gapyeong Station, we can take a walk, taxi or by bus. I recommend we go there buy bus. Because the bus fare is just 5000 KRW. and we can take this bus whenever we want and wherever we want to go as long as it is include in the tour course. So, if you have a plan to go to Petite France or Morning Calm garden, I think it will be cheap with bus.

Shuttle Bus Tour

5

OUr journey to Nami Island

6

Our Journey to Nami Island

7

Our Journey to Nami Island

Accidentally, we board the train in the last peron. And surprisingly there is no chair there. And we find so many people with bicycle there. This peron actually for cyclist , so they can board the train with their bicycle without disturb another passenger.

8

Nami Isalnd Immigration

After stand, sit, sleep, wait in thetrain more than 1 hour we arrived at the Gapyeong Station. We go to the shuttle bus. Pay ticket to the driver. Save the ticket well, because if not you must pay again nect time you ride the bus. Nami island is not far from the station, so we arrived, and walking to the dock, where the ship that will took me to Nami Isalnd park neatly there. But before enter the ship, of course we must pay the entrance fee. The Admission Fee is 10000 KRW for adult. As foreign visitor, we must gave them our passport in the ticket booth. After get the Visa (entrance ticket) we can enter the dock and went to the ship.

9

Ship to Nami Island

The ship is really swag, with so many flag from another country. We decided to stand outside to see the view. There is inside and outside room in the ship. So many people go inside to get the warmer place, but if you want to enjoy the view, it’s better to stand outside with cold breeze. for me that’s not a big deal because the view is really nice.

10

Nami Island

Nami Island is known with it’s beautiful tree line. But, for me when I see nami island I just feel autumn more here. i can see yellow, red and green leaves here. So beautiful bright color blend well here. With this breathtaking view of course we took photo every where.

Nami Island

We found squirell there. It sat in one of the bench waiting for food. So cute, and I think it already know human well, so it doesn’t afraid, so we can took the photo so closed with them.

14

Nami Island

Winter Sonata, one of drama that shoot their scenes here. This little snowman is really famous because of the drama. Actually I don’t watch the drama, because it’s old drama, when I start  like K-drama, it’s too old generation for me, so I never watch it. We took a photo with this cute snowman, take turn between me, Big Sis and Miss Peipz, until an ahjuma told me she wanted to take photo for us. We actually thought what the reason ahjumma offered us to take a photo, but we realized that maybe we took a long time to take a photo there, so ahjumma offered herself to take photo of us so we can finish the photo session fast, and she can take a photo there.

Sausage VS Bakpao (Steam Bun)

We taste some of food in Nami Island. But the best food is Sausages and the steam bun. You must try, especially the bun. Honestly I am a big fan of Steamed Bun. So when I see the stall, I practically run there to but the bun. And it;s good, the steamed bun is really warm, and the red bean inside is really sweet and blend well with the bun. The sausages is Miss Peipz’s favourite, it’ the best she said. So don’t forget to try one of these if you go to Nami.

Beautiful Nami Island

For our lunch, we decided to eat dosirak. Dosirak is lunch box actually. The dosirak is served in old style can lunch box. We ordered Kimchi Tuna dosirak. They heated the aluminuim can for us, and gave us gloves to touch the dosirak. Because it will be too hot for us to handle with bare skin. The way to eat the dosirak is, use the gloves well, and shake the dosirak, until inside blend well, between rice, kimchi, tuna and the egg. Ater it blend well, you can start eating.

21

Dosirak

Dosirak – Shake Shake

23

Dosirak – After vs Before

For me, the taste is just so so, the taste is what you can expect from rice with kimchi. But the sensation shake the dosirak is one of the charm why people eat this. Miss Peipz order Kimchi Cheese rice, and I think the tuna is better than cheese.  So, this is it our journey in Nami Island. We strolled all over the Nami Isalnd, want to rent a bike, but we think it’s the best to save money, so it’s tiring to walk around the nami. But because of the view, the autumn view, it’s really cure my tiredness. I am rally glad come in autumn, not so hot, not so cold with colorful tree.

AUTUMN IN KOREA – DAY 8 (SEOUL) – Petite France

$

Still at Day 8 in South Korea, from Nami Island we went to Petite France. It’s still in Gapyeong area. Petite France is a French cultural village set in the Korean countryside. Petite France serves as both a French cultural village and a youth training facility (Goseong Youth Training Center), and consists of 16 French-style buildings where visitors can lodge and experience French food, clothing, and household culture.

It’s not far from Nami Island. 5000 KRW shuttle Bus can take us there from Nami Island. But as you know the bus  take off once a hous from Gapyeong station. So, if we miss the bus, we must wait an hour. At first, we tried to queue , wait for the bus, but there is no sign of bus, and we are alreadt tired standing, so we dicided to take a cab like some queuers that also tired waiting like us.

24

Petite France

The road from Nami to Petite France is really challenging. The landscape is little bit hilly so we ride like a roller coaster because the taxi driver also drive with gas always on. So, I actualy feeling little bit dizzy. But fortunately it’s not too long. We arrived safely.  We buy a entrance ticket 8000 KRW for each person. For your information, petite France is open from 9 am until 18 pm, but the last entrance is an hour before closing time. So if you want to go here, check your time first.

Activity Information
1. Saint-Exupery Memorial Hall: Displays the life of Saint-Exupery, who was a noted author in France, and the writing process of The Little Prince novel.
2. Orgel House: View the orgels (musicbox) collected from all over European countries and enjoy the sound.
3. France Traditional House Exhibition Hall: Experience the 19 century’s French culture inside France Traditional House.
4. Antique Exhibit Hall: Enjoy and purchase antique items, puppets and porcelain from Europe, including France.
5. Marionette Dance Performance: Shows the dance show of marionette of the Czech Republic.
6. Puppet play: A European play for children, comprised of a Guignol and marionette, French and Czech traditional puppets respectively.
7. Appreciating an orgel: Offer an explanation regarding the history of orgels.
8. Plaster art exhibition: Visitors can create plaster arts, painted by themselves with shapes such as the Little Prince or the Eiffel Tower.

Petite France also known as film location some popular dramas like Beethove Virus, Secret Garden, and the latest and the most popular I think My Love From The Star (Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun as the lead). Running man also ever shoot in Petite French. I am not remeber what episode it that, but the guest is Nichkhun and Taecyeon 2 pm. They play somethin about Little Prince here.

If you are a fans of Little Prince, I think you should go to this place, because there are some building, some decoration that will show us about Little Prince. Honestly I don’t know about little Prince at all, so I just enjoy the colorful building, the unique thing inside, the view, and the decoration of this village. I only can describe this village as Beatiful and Colorful.

Here some photo to describe this village.

Waffles

Our lunch is just dosirak, and I think it’s not make my stomach satisfied. So I bough waffle as snack. Before waiting the 5000 KRW shuttle Bug again. It’s just so so, but pretty good to fill my stomach. After eat, we waited again in the bus stop. So many people queued there, so I little bit worried we could not get the seat.  We waited so looooonnnnngggg. Tired after walking around the petite france, but know we still need to standing waiting for the bus. Very tired, our foot is nearly broken I think. After strolling around the big Nami Island by foot, and walking to explore Petite France, and now standing endlessly to wait the bus. OMG I think I need more foot, so I can replace my tired foot to the new one. The highligh of this issue is, we are not in sneakers, te most comfort shoe in the world. Because we go to Nami, we want to look little bit fashionable and instagramable, so we use boots that day. So, it tortured our foot more, especially Mr Damz that told us his boots made his foot really sore. From his expression and how much he want to sit I think he suffered more than I.

After nearly an hour waiting, the sun will set in no time, the bus is arrived, and we quickly went to the bus. Big Sis lost he ticket, so she must paid again 5000 KRW to ride the bus. We took the bus from Petite France to gapyeong Station. To go back to Seoul we rode metro from Gapyeng back to our apartment in Gwanghwamun. We decided to eat near the house, because we are already tired to go to another place. Our foot is killing us slowly at that time.

At first, we want to eat at Ahjumma place, the restaurant that we ate breakfast today. But we saw a Fried chicken restaurant in our apartment. It’s just one step from ahjumma restaurant. So we decided to eat there. Mr Damz and Miss Peipz also want to try chimaek (Chicken and Maekju). In orean drama, we usually see the star eat fried chicken with maekju (beer). The said it’s the best combination, the right thing to eat fried chicken. In Indonesia, fried chicken like KFC, McD, and another fast food is served with coke, pepsi, ar another soda drink. So, this is our first time we will try the CHIMAEK.

30

Empty Plate

We were welcomed by an ahjussi (I think he is the owner), first he speak Korean to us, but after see that we are not understand, we tried to speak English to us. So friendly and helpful, give us menu and pointed what the recommendation dish. It’s not complicated , the menu is just chicken (bone or boneless) and pick the sauce that you want.  After that pick the beer that you want. That’s it, no rice or no other food beside fried chicken here. Because we are 4, they gave us 4 little cute plates as you can see above. They also gave us 4 forks ans some side dish, yellow pickle radish, cube radish, and salad.

31

Chimaek Side Dish and Forks

32

Maekju

Miss Peipz and Mr damz choose Cass for their beer. Me and Big Sis didn’t order beer, we just sip a little bit from their. FYI, we don’t like alcohol too much.  We ordered to type of chicken, both are boneless, because we are too lazy too debone the chicken. The First is just regular fried chicken, the original one and the other is spicy one.

33

Chicken

34

Chicken

I really really like the chicken. It’s so crispy outside and still moist inside. The taste is outstanding, any fried chicken from fast food that i taste in Indonesia is BIG no no after taste this fried chicken. I think I already get the reason why Korean love Maekju so much. Because the chicken is really delicious. It’s the best. For the beer, Miss Peipz and Mr Damz love the beer, so they order 1 glass more to share between them. The combination chicken with maekju is the best they said. So, don’t forget to eat Chimaek in Korea, even if you doesn’t drink alcohol, just eat the chicken. I recommend it.

After eat, we went up to our apartment. Mr Damz little bit tipsy I think, but he still can walk straightly but the way he talk is little bit too excessive and he is too happy with smile never disappear from his face. But as long as we don’t need to carry him home, it’s still okay to get little bit drunk.

35

Cute Home Sandals

If you are Korean Drama Lovers, I think you know that Korean use sandals inside their house. they take off their shoes for outside and change it into home sandal when going inside the house. In our apartment the host also provide the sandal. And I really like this one, especially when I use black stocking. It’s really cute and fit my foot really well I think. It’s just a little intermezzo to show you how much i really like this sandals.

So, this is the end of Autumn in Korea Day 8. We just went to Nami Isaland and Petite France, but because it’s far we took a lot of time to go there. I have really good impression with Nami, it’s so beautiful, the autumn trees is so beautiful, that make me think the reason why I choose to come in the winter is because of this, the red and yellow leaves. But petite france it’s not that good for me. I expect more than that. And maybe I already too tired, so I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoy Nami Island. So, if I go there once more time, I will choose Nami, and never again for Petite France.

Finally Day 10 is arrived, We planned to make that day became easy day. We had too much walk, our foot can not walk as many as before. Beside that, Miss pepz have a little bit fever. So, today become our lazy day, relaxed, enjoy our slowly walk that day, until our decision to go to Hangang Park destroyed our lazy day. Check our story here.

First, as always we started our day with eat breakfast at Ahjumma restauran, we ordered kimbap , ramyeon, pork donkatsu. The Kimbap is so delicious, it has spam, cheese , carrot, yellow radish pickle, green vegie, so delicious. Ramyeon also delicious, I forget what kind of ramyeon we ordered, but it filled with mandu and oden and it served with a yellow pot, really korean like. Donkatsu is delicious too, it served with rice, salad, and soup. So yummy. Every dish in Korean ahjumma is yummy. ^^

1

Kimbap (the best kimbap i ever tasted)

Pork Donkatsu

After we eat , we went to Hongdae area. It’s so quiet in the morning, the store mostly still closed, and the hype of Hongdae is not there. We found some store is opened, we went there, they sell so many cute thing. We bought some for us and for our friends. We found food stall there, and we choose Gyeran-Bang , it’s a bread with egg on top, it’s not so wow , but it’s nice, egg with bread never failed anyway. I ever saw in TV or blog the some Gyeran Bang has seeds on top, like sun flower seed, pumpkin seed ot other, i think it will be more delicious than the plain one. We went to Hello Kity Cafe too, but we didn’t enter the cafe, just stand in front of it and took some picture (tourist mode on).

5

Hongdae

7

Hello Kity Cafe

We strolling in Hongdae area, and found so unique beauty store. I don’t know what the name, but the soap is like food, it’s smell good, and the color is bright. We found an ice cream store, that sell so cute ice cream. We didn’t buy it anyway, too expensive, and in autumn i think it’s not right to eat a cold thing like ice cream. But it’s really instragramable, so if you want to fill your SNS with cute thing, buy this and took picture properly and post it, it’s really cute…. In Hongdae we can find a lot of clothes store, and it sell high end fasdhion item with cheap price. But later I find it we can find same item with cheaper price in Ewha Univ. The difference is big, it is around 5000 KRW or 60000 IDR in Indonesia. So be smart went buy something. Because we in Hongdae, of course we must find Haha Restaurant , unfortunately it’s closed in the morning, it open in the evening till night, so we could not taste the food, so Sad T_T

8

Hongdae

9

Hongdae

11

Hongdae

10

Hogdae – 401 Haha Restaurant

From Hongdae we went to Namdaemun Market, it’s a traditional market that sell so many traditional item, and it’s cheaper too. We bought some “I Love Korea” shirt here, we bough some ahjumma pant here (it’s so comfy pant), we bought some korean traditional item here, like the spoon, chopstick, rice bowl, and many more. But the most interesting part for our journey to Namdaemun is we found a shop that has so many person queue for their food. They sold mandu and donuts. And we decided to queue and bought the mandu. THe mandu is so big, the size is bigger than my fist. The taste is delicious too. But later I know that the most popular thing actually the donuts, so sad because we didn’t buy it.

12

Namdaemun – Big Size Mandu, like Bakpao

From Namdaemun we, went to Myeongdong again. We walked to the subway station, and found a lot of pigeon. Me as a tourist and never see so many pigeon like this before, of course there is one thing that I must do here, can you tell??? Yup, running and pose with flying pigeon. But I feel little bit disgusting with so many bird poop. So, I didn’t done it right, so I didn’t get the good photo, so I share just pigeon without me.

13

Namdaemun – Pigeon

Our mission to Myeongdong this time is too eat. We want to have culinary feast today. We found so many food stall here, and we came with empt stomach, so we must eat a lot here. First stop is  sausage cover with fish cake. The stall sell tteok covered fish cake, crab stick covered with fish cake, fish cak e it self and sausage covered with fish cake. We bought one, and the sausages is so delicious, the fish cake is yummy too, with the mustard and chili sauce, daeeeeebbbbbaaak.

14

Myeongdong

Our next stop is something like meat ball. It’s look delicious, but unfortunately, it disappointed us. The taste is big no no, meat never wrong before, but the meat ball is not good at all. I wonder why it has so many buyer.

15

Myeongdong

We found this ice cream stall, the legendary ice cream But in Indonesia the ice cream like this is everywhere right now, especially in Jakarta, you can find this ice cream at mall, so we didn’t have urge to find this and taste it. But the interior and the exterior the ice cream stall is so cool.

16

Myeongdong

After wandering the street, but this and buy that. I didn’t record it all. We went to Yoogane , korean dakgalbi. It’s pretty famous, later i found it already open in Jakarrta. We ask some girl about where is yogane, and they easily show the road to us. We found it fast. It’s not meal time yet, so the restaurant it’s not too crowded, we got the table right away. We buy chicken dakgalbi, with cheese and extra rice for fried rice in the end. Each table has some  apron, we use it, so the oil when they cook the dakgalbi  didnt splat our clothes. The waiter / waitress will cook it for us, cook the chicken, and cook the fried rice when we done with the chicken. They do it all, so don’t worry you can not cook, you still can eat deliciously

17

Yoogane – Myeongdong (the vegie is so big and a lot)

18

Yoogane – Myeongdong (you can see how the cheese melt)

19

Yoogane – Myeongdong (fried rice in the end)

Today, Miss Pepz is not feeling well. She already feel not well 2 days, but this days is the peak, she can not continue the journey after our dinner. So we decided to split, Miss Peipz went back to our apartment, and me, Big Sis and Mr Damz went to Hangang Park. We went together to station, and found this cute cookies. The cookies is in ball shaped, hard, and covered with sugar. It’s really unique, when we bought, the seller, will asked us to punch the cookies with a little wooden hammer to crush the cookies.  So funny, but th e tastes is not fun at all, it’s not good. I remebered the cookies was ended in trash bin.

20

Snack

So, the night is still rolled on. We ride subway to go to Hangang Park. We arrieve savely, and we walked there. We walked on bridge ans see the park. No body at the park, We don’t know why, maybe because it’s autumn night, and it’s cold. So, from above, we didn’t see anyone.  Well, there some, running, mabe workout, but it’s so quiet. We decided to walked more, maybe in the other side, it will be more hyped. So we crosses the Hangang, Running Man swimming, rowing with cardboard boat, but us with our own foot, walking from  side to another side crossed the Hangang. Hahahahha.

21

Hangang Park

22

Hangang

Actually the view is great, we can see building radiated in the river, the lamp. But the cold breeze killing us. And i think it’s pretty dangerous walking in the bridge like this, the car is so fast, if I am not that fat, maybe i could fly when the car is passed with high speed.  The bridge is also so quiet, just 3 of us.

23

Hangang

24

Hangang

25

Hangang

After arrived at the end of the bridge, we decided not to walking down to the river, because this side is darker that the other side. So, we decide to just went home. We already tired of crossing the river. But the night mare start here, I think we will walked back to another side of bridge, and ride subway from there. But Mr Damz said, it will be another subway station if we walked from here. We must walk another path, it will be boring if we crossed the bridge once more time. Yeah, it’s true, so we just decided to move forward.

We walked and find a parking area, it’s so quiet, we must find somebody to asked where is the nearest subway station. Luckily there is an ahjushi that guard the parking area.We asked him, but we were not sure, if he understangdor not, he point somewhere, and we followed it. We walked and found civilization. But the area is not crowded like mtyeongdong or hongdae, it’s quiet, not so many people walking around. And we found a student that walking toward us, we asked him about subway, and khe kindly explained it to us, it’s not so far anymore he said.

We found it in the end, the foot is already so tired, cool, and little bit hungry. We took the subway to our home. And before went home, we decided to went to Paris Baguette near our apartment. We want to buy some to feel our stomach. The display is so good, it’s look yummy. Like i want buy all. But i think compare to bread price in Indonesia, it’s expensive. So I can not ‘borong’ the bread. Hahahaha

27

Paris Baquete – They sell bread, salad, sandwich, ice cream, beverage, and cake too.

28

Paris Baquete

29

Paris Baquete

30

Snacking Time

And this is what we bought, banana uyu, and 2 kind of bread, pumpkin bread and Baumkuchen. Big Sis think this Banana uyu is more delicious than the popular one Banana Uyu. It’s more creamy and more banana. The bread is delicious too.

31

Snacking Time

This is what we bought in namdaemun, 3 ‘I Love Korea’ shirt for adult and 3 for kids, and 2 celana ahjumma. Believe me buy the celana ahjumma when you go to namdaemun, it’s so comfy and really good to use. We went home and see Miss Pepz is already ready to sleep. We are tired too, so we prepare ourselves fast, and sleep too.

On our Daya 11th, we plan to go to Everland. Everland is South Korea’s largest theme park. It’s located  at the Everland Resort in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do province, South Korea. Mostly  every one who go to South Korea, Everland is always in their bucket thing to do. Especially for adrenaline rush lover, T-Express is South Korea’s highest, fastest, longest, steepest roller coaster and it is a wooden coaster. It’s the main attraction in Everland. So, we want too try it so badly.

Everland Icon

Everland Icon

So, that day, we decided to go early so we can spent a day there, and try many attraction. We went to station without proper breakfast, we just buy samgak kimbap in the convenient store. We went there with subway. It’s easy to go to Everland by Metro Subway. You must find your way to EverLine or Giheung Station, Giheung Station in Yellow line is the main access to Everline. From Giheung Station, you can sit until the last stop, Jeondae Everland Station. From there you can find shuttle bus, that freely take you to the entrance of Everland.

This is the Subway Map in Korea, The Ever line is in the bottom, that I  marked it wit red box, the tiny little red dot, is Gigeung Station and Everland Station. So, everywhere you are from, just find the route to Giheung, after that you will be easier to reach Everland.

Subway Map to Everland

Subway Map to Everland

Beside using subway, you can using bus. For the complete information, you can check Everland website here. For the admission ticket, we must paid 43,000 KRW, that for me it’s too expensive. But luckily, we found discount coupon, so we could pay the ticket cheaper , just 36,000 KRW. So, if you plan to go there don’t forget to check this site or Everland Site to find any interesting discount coupon.

BAck to our stories, Everland open at 10.00 am, so we decided to went there at 9.00 am, but of course that plan did not work really well, because if you read my stories before, Miss Pepz was sick, and the rest of us including me had a really long journey yesterday night. But, luckily, the subway is not too crowded, so, we can still arrived in time.

So quite station

So quite station and train. We could in eparated row because there’s no crowds like always it is

Go To Giheung Station

Go To Giheung Station

After we arrived at the Everland station, we just follow the other, and we found the Bus Stop for the free shuttle bus to Everland. We wait around 10 minutes, and the bus come and took us there safely. We directly went to ticket booth and buy the ticket and of course enter the gate as soon ass we got the ticket. And the euphoria is started. Theme Park always make me happy.

Welcome Decoration

Welcome Decoration

After we enter the gate, we found this spot. It’s already in Christmas mode, so the decoration is Christmas thing, green, red, light, present, christmas tree. Of course we took photo with this welcome Decoration. I found so many decoration there. One that i like really much is the standing lamp below. It’s cute, and so good I think, especially when it turn on in the night, the light bring me too christmas wonderland.

5

Street Lamp with little Christmas Decoration

not far from the gate, we found a Hologram Concert By YG Ent. There is a schedule for the concert, there is Psy, 2NE1, and BigBang.  And at the time we arrived, it’s nearly Big Bang hologram concert time. So of course we want to see it. There was no long queue too. So we went there. The venue, is not that big, there are sitting area and standing area. As fans, we are choose the standing area and stood at very front.  Before the concert started, we can took a photo, and if we are lucky, our photo will be showed in the hologram concert like we get an honor to standing int he stage with Big Bang member. Anyway, the concert somehow seem real. If you ever went to Dongdaemun, there is a YG ent Hologram concert too, and as I know SM also have one right now in SM Coex.

1st stop - Big Bang Concert Hologram

1st stop – Big Bang Concert Hologram

We were hungry after that. We just eat a little for breakfast, so we need proper meal right now. So we walked to find a restaurant and we found a food court. In the way to find the food court, we found so many Christmas decoration, such as :

Red Leaves, Christmas must have item

The Everland Icon, I gave you the more clearly photo at the beginning of this post

The Everland Icon, I gave you the more clearly photo at the beginning of this post

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree – this spot is so good in the night. Check the photo in this post

After so many snap in the way, We found a food court, so many people there, so we think we will get nice food there. We entered it, and this is what we bought :

Beef Soup

Beef Soup – The beef is shredded , and i think there is too many leek inside, compare to the meat, the leek is too many. Not so good I think, Ahjumma food is better than this.

Donkatsu

Donkatsu – Nothing can be wrong for a donkatsu I think, as long is the batter is good. But this one the batter is too thick. So we were not pleased again. DOnkatsu ahjumma is more delicious than this.

Fried Rice

Fried Rice – As Indonesian we eat a lot Fried Rice, and this one is not our style I think.

So, the food at the foo court is not that good, the Kimchi is not good too. But we are not picky eater, although i just 5 from 10, we still eat it for survive. We need a lot of energy to play. Eat first for the better games. hahahaha.

After eat, we decided to ride this ship, it ‘s called Columbus Adventure, in Indonesia, we have something similar that called Kora Kora (Dufan , Ancol). I like riding this. Big Sis is not an adrenaline lover, so she decided to sit not in the edge, but Miss Pepz and Adam, will sit at second row from the edge. Because I still filling full after eat, and afraid I will got nausea after this, so I choose to follow Big Sis. It’s so great ride.

Red Tree - Big Sis Obsession

We come in Autumn, so actually the Christmas decor is not 100% ready. As example we found this place, they still working on this, there is a sign that said the visitors can not enter the place.

15

Not finished yet Christmas Decoration

We found a unique tunnel there, the tunnel full of something like this. A bottle that look like a lamp that filled with a note. I bet it is a wishing note. South Korea is number one wishing note country I think.

16

Wishing Note

We found this wings too. I bet when the decoration is complete, in the night it will be lighted and the light will make a beautiful ilummination.

17

Lil Sis Fairy

18

Trash Bin also so cute here, the ATM post also look cool here. Theme Park effect .

19

Madagascar – Poor us, we cannot watch the show because we missed the schedule. So for everyone that go here, asked the map in the ticket booth and choose wisely what do you want to do, and dont miss what you want to watch

20

Everland – I like how this place have so many tree and placed to sit and relax. Even when you doesn’t play many attraction, you can just enjoy the scenery , especially when you with your lover. That’s why Everland also a good place to date.

21

Our Main destination – T Express

22

We with T-Express rail. Pardon my face ^^

So, T-Express is so good, you will really find your adrenaline rush. Miss Pepz and I sit together and we didn’t dare sit at the front, so we sat at the 3rd row. Mr Damz want sit in the first row, so while he stil queue in 1st row queuing , Miss Pepz and I rode it first. At first I was scary, I closed my eyes, but it will be wasted if I did that until it finished, so I opened my eyes, and I feel so many thing in my head, it’s so cool, how fast, how I feel like my butt didn’t reach the chair, how I screamed, the other screamed, saw the wood rail. SO exciting, I finished my ride with smile on my face. Oh yeah, Big Sis did not want to ride this, so, she waited us in front of the T-Express gate. Miss Pepz and I went to her and wait Mr Damz. He come with smile too, and the different hair do, because of he sit in the front, and the wind strucked his hair, it’s become different. And he excitedly said he will ride it one more time before we go home.

I am so exciting about this parade, I never watch any Theme Park Parade before this. In Indonesia, I know Dufan hold it, but I never there when it happened. So I am so happy that Everland hold the parade when I went there. In the map that we got in the ticket booth, there is a schedule when the parade will be started, so we marked our time, before it started, we already secure a place to saw the parade. We sit at the very front, so we saw the parade clearly. And you know what, our neighbor is kids with their parent, there is no adult without kid like us. But never mind, we enjoyed it anyway.

After saw parade, we walked again to find any interesting attraction. There is a haunted house, but we must pay more to enter the house. So, we didn’t do that. But after a while we found Rotating House, it’s kinda creepy, so we enter and queue. The queue is not that long, so we quickly enter. This rotating house is give us effect we sit in a rotating house, it make me dizzy a little bit. But the ending is really surprised me. If you want to know what make me surprised, just tried it when you went there.

29

Rotating House

We tried 4D Experience too. We watched Rio, and I think you already know what I experienced. Because it birds, the sensation that I got is wind, water, the view of bird flying, not so wow, but still okay. As I remember we played a shooting game too. We must shoot a alien or monster. But I didn’t have photo about the place.

30

Rio – The 4D Experience

We found this, It’s called The Amazon Adventure, it’s similar with ‘Arung Jeram’ in Dufan, the Attraction that I like the most in Dufan. So we queue for this, the queue is quite long, but the waiting time is not that long. The process is so quick. I really like how the boat have a cover to covered us from the water. It’s autumn and will be night soon, if we go wet it will be so freezing.

we rode with the a group of family. Although the is a cover, the floor is still wet, and the water can enter the floor, so it made our shoes wet. But our body is completely dry. The water movement not challenging I said, Dufan in Indonesia or USS have more rapid water movement. And the path also not so far, I thin I just sit for a while, didn’t feel any fear or adrenaline rush, but I see the finish line already. So sad.

31

The Amazon Adventure

Everland is so considerate I think, they now our shoes maybe wet, we will fell cold. So in the exit path of The Amazon Advanture, there are so many heater. So before we leaves from that area, we can dry ourselves first. After we completely dried and warm, we walk again, and we found a Safari queue and follow the queuing. The queue is long, so we sat on the bus when the sky already dark. You can see two photos below, Left, when we queue, Right when we in the bus. We saw some Tiger, lion, bear, bird but in the night and I was in moving object so my camera could not capture them well .

32

Night Safari

We finished the Safari, and walked into the souvenirs shop. They sell doll, shirt, headband, bag, tumbler, and the other souvenirs. I didn’t buy any, I just saw so many cute thing there, but i don’t feel right to spend my money there, we know the price is quite expensive in theme park. From the Safari, Mr Damz left us, he want to ride T-Express again. And Miss Pepz want to eat again. So, we followed Miss Pepz to foodcourt, we found a different food court , but the menu is same, so Miss Pepz eat the same menu as what we eat for lunch. I and Big Sis bought one portion too share, we are not that hungry.

When we walked to food court, we found Night Parade, it’s beautiful too with the light. But my camera not that good to capture it well. Sorry.

33

Night Christmas Parade

After we finished eat, we wait for Mr Damz. But it’s so cold outside, we could not contact Mr Damz, because I brought the wifi pocket, and I think he too far from us to get the signal. And the we found a tent with heater inside. We entered it, and so comfy there, so warm, and we can sit inside. We wait Mr Damz there. But our meeting point is in the foodcourt, how if he can find us? So after a while, as a maknae, I went to T-Express to find Adam. I Walk there but T-Express is already close, so where is he? I walked back, and find him, i didn’t know where he come from, he just popped up there. He told me he ride it twice, after his first ride, the officer said, after this it will be last , because there are not many people, so he rode it again without queue again. And the after effect, his face and hand freezing because of the cold wind

34

Heater – While waiting for Mr Damz that want to ride T-Express again for the last time, we the Girls wait here. It’s so damn cold in the night, that’s why I think the provided this area, to heat ourselves.

After we meet, and our group become complete again. We decided to went home. We walked into the gate, and of course meet with the Christmas tree again, and it’s become so beautiful with the lighting. The atmosphere become romantic suddenly (why I didn’t go there with boyfriend). It completely different with what I saw in the morning. Of course snap snap is a must.

Hungry after strucked by the cold wind – before we went upstair, we et at the Ahjumma first. We ordered Kimbap and Budae ramen. So delicious

So, this is our journey to Everland. We waited again for the shuttle bus. The bus take us to the station, and rode metro to our home station. That night is so damn cold. Maybe winter already coming. Waiting for shuttle bus is so cold, and then we must walk from station to Apartment. That’s why I think we craving Ahjumma food.

The 11th day is over, it’s mean I still have 2 day to tell us about mu Autumn in Korea Journey. Wait for it yaaaa ^^

Well, ini sudah hari ke 11 , dan sudah hampir habis liburan Lil Sis, Big Sis and the geng.  Tapi jangan bersedih, habis ini, Lil Sis akan cerita penglaman Lil Sis ke Korea (Again) but in the winter. Hahaha. untuk lebh lengkapnya ditunggu aja sambil berdoa biar Lil Sis punya waktu  dan nggak males buat nulis nulis. ^^ Loh kok, jadi Bahasa ya, back to English lagi ya.

So, Today we will go to Korean Folk Village at Yongin. Korean Folk Village introduces traditional culture from the late Joseon period to both local and international visitors through cultural experience, like farmer dance, martial art on horseback, traditional wedding ceremony, traditional Korean food, and traditional house. This place also known as the set of historical drama like Jewel in The Palace, Arng and the magistrate, and many more. So, many foreigner go there to see and experience Korea in Traditional ways. You can chek the detail here.

Before we go to Yongin, we eat our breakfast first. We went down to Ahjumma restaurant. And this is what we ordered,  we order vegie bibimbap and sundubu jigae. I will not express how it taste, but i still believe the best sundubu jigae I ever eat is here, in ahjumma  restaurant. And then the bibimbap also delicious because the vegie is season well. The worthy breakfast.

Sundubu Jigae

After eat our breakfast, we took a walk to nearest subway station, which is Gwanghwamun station. We always start from here anyway. We go to Yongin buy subway from Gwanghwamun to Gangnam Station and the ride a bus 5001-1. Get off at Gangnam Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 10 or Sinnonhyeon Station (DX Subway Line), Exit 6. Take Bus No. 5001-1 or 1560 to Korean Folk Village. We rarely rode a bus in Korea, so we was confused at first, how to ride the bus, where we should stand. We walked to Exit 6 gangnam station, and we found a bus stop sign there with so many people standing, but there is so many lines, which line is for our bus, until we found a plat on the sidewalk , there is bus number written on the plat, so we just standing in line based on that. We standing there and wait the bus. We didn’t wait for a long time, the bus come, and fortunately we got seat. When ride a bus you must listen carefully what the annoucer say, it will say what bus station next stop is. But sometimes it doesn’t in English, so it’s hard to understand what it said, luckily for Yongin Koren Folk Village, they say it with English, and so many tourist get off here, so we arrived savely.

The admission is 15000 KRW for adult, we but 4 tickets and then immediately enter the gate. Our first stop is a traditional house , there is a man sitting there making something. We go closer and found that he is making a traditional sandal there. This kind of sandals usually appears on korean drama, especially used by the poor.

3

Korea Traditional Sandal and the making of it

In this house we alsofound some unique things, like the dried corn that hanging on the wal.. Not only the corn, there are some othe vegetable too. The most interesting one is I found that the corn is in darker color, in Indonesia Corn always in yellow, but here I found it black, even they have mixed color in one corn. And my question it, why they hanging it there? Anybody ls comment if you know the answer ^^

Vegetable hanging on the wall

As I said above, there are some performace her, One of the is Martial art on horseback. There is a time schedule for all performance, so don’t forget to noted the time, and go to the place in time. The show is so interesting, they do some acrobatic , archery, spear, dan some martial art with the horse. Must watch if you go there.

Horse Show

6

Cabbage field – I found this on the way to Traditional Wedding ceremony

From the Martial Art horse riding, we went to Traditional Wedding ceremony. When we arrived there, the show is not started yet. So, I have time to circled around the huse and taking some picture. From the right top (clockwise), there is a palanquin, cramped inside I think.  The warehouse area, the palanquin that will be used for wedding ceremony, spinning yarn room, and the last is iron room.

7

Traditional Korean House

I circled arounf the house, and back into the main yard, anf find this table, traditional wedding table is already standing there waiting the groom and the bride. Many visitors already gathered there, also wait for the traditional wedding ceremony is started.  So many kids there, I think, theye were in the middle a field trip with their friend and teacher.

And the ceremony is started. For 3 picture after this, from the top right(clockwise) :

  1. The servant got the palaquin to pick up the bride
  2. The Master of ceremony check the mic
  3. The witness check the table
  4. The groom has arrived
  5. The bride has arrived
  6. The bride and groom bowed each other
  7. Go to their place each at the side of wedding table
  8. Offering tea for the god
  9. Offering tea for the ancestor
  10. The wedding ceremony is overed
  11. The Bride and the groom go home

Korean Traditional Wedding – The Procession

Of course we must eat there, we spend our day from morning until must night here. So, we had our lunch here. We go to the foodcourt there. And what we ordered is : Dotorimuk or acorn jelly is a Korean food which is a jelly made from acorn starch. I ever watched this food in Family outing and running man, and they eat it so deliciously , and I never eat something like this before. So i relly curious how its tasted. So, we ordered one. BUt, I don’t really like it, it’s really plan, tasteless, maybe because of that they mixed it with vegetables and gochujang. But somehow it below my expectation. >_<

13

Acorn Jelly

We ordered Bulgogi bibimbap. The unique is, the serve the topping and the rice in different bowl. Ussually when I eat bibimbap, i will get a hot bowl with rice in bottom and the vegie, egg, the meat on thop the rice. If you remember what i eat for breakfast this day, I eat bibimbap too and in my opinion what i eat for my breakfast is more delicious than this although this one has meat, but the vegie is not seasoned well i think. And what i think is must have item in the bibimbap is missing here, theres no egg here.

14

Beef Bibimbap

The best dish I ate ther, is this satay. It is different from indonesian satay, maybe it’s more like yakitori (japanese satay) ^^. The meat is seasoned well, and it’s nout tought, so delicious. We found sikhye – rice punch there, althought it’s winter and the weather is cold, we still ordered it, because we missed it so badly. We drank once when we sleep in Jimjilbang in Jeju, and the taste is make us want to drink it again. But I think it’s a wrong decision, when we drink it in jimjilbang, we just go out from the sauna room, pretty hot, and drink the cold sikhye, of course we will taste heaven. But now different situation, so sikhye is bad choice.

Yongin Korean Village – Colorful clothes hanging on the Tree

As I told you before, Yongin Korean Folk Village aften used as a filming set. So, many standing banner like this there. You can find Han Ga In, Park Min Young, Lee Jun ki, and many more there. For Korean drama lover of course you must take a photo with your favourite.

18

Korean Actor Standing Banner (including me)

The place is really huge, you can walk and always find different home, different thing to try. You can find a kitchen and take a picture with the big crock for cooking on that time, playing with what they called traditional iron (it’s look like a music intrument for me), pestle, and some gardening tools. You must walked neat the river too, you can find a spot to  take a phote pretending you in the middle of washing clothes. It’s so funny and interesing thing to do.

Love this path too

Beside the Martil Art on horse back, there is another interesting performace you can not misse when go to Yongin Korean Folk Village. Farmer dance, it’s a music and dancing performance to show how much the farmer fell grateful for the harvest. It’s really colorful and loud music, but somehow it can refresh my mind with the music. Beside this, you also must watche the rope dancing. It’s done by an old man, he still really agile and flexibel on top the rope. You will amazed see how he walk, turn his body, sit on a rope. There rope is hanging quite high, maybe 3-5 meters. Beside the high rope, ther is a low rope, maybe just 15cm above the ground. So, if you want try to balace your self on the rope you can try using the  low ones.

Traditional music and dancing performance Show

30

The amazing rope dancing by a 할아버지

As I told you, this place is so big. After watch the performance, we find traditional games spot. And of course we tried to play there.

31

Playing traditional korean game

We found a big building, and when we went inside, we realized that this building is a hearing court. There are some tools for execute the criminal. We often see the tools used in Korean drama. The chair with two stick to press our foot is really hurt, we tried it, even with just little press it hurt so much, i can imagine when it press with wholeheartedly. In this building, we also find the jail building, so of course pose as desperate criminal also need to be done herre.

Wishing notes

What I like from Korean Fol Village is so many interesting object here, so many performance  that you must watch here, we can imagined how KOrean live before, and this place is so big, I found a lot car in the parking area, but when you go to the traditional house one by one, I rarely meet with the other visitor. So we can take a photo without queue and can pose whatever we like. Korean is wishing country, we found a spot to write wishes there. We write it on a paper and tied it on a rope that tied the stone and tree.

From Yongin we walked to nearest Bus stop, and rode a bus that brought us to Gangnam, the same bus with what we rode in the morning. From Gangnam we went to Seoul Station. There is a Lotte mart there, and we plan to bought some snack for our family and friend in Indonesia. As you know in Korea, we must pay for the plastic bag and it’s pretty expensive. So, we already prepared bag to keep our purchase.

We eat at the lottemart, there is a small foodcourt. We bought a noodle with wonton, naengmyun. They sell inari and rice ball too. The taste is not really good, but enough to fill our stomach and gave us energy to shopping. Oh yeah, to get a cart in Lotte Mart, you must entered a coin there (I forget what the coin nominal), the purpose of this is you must return the cart back to the place, if you want the money back. Good idea I think.

@LotteMart – Our shopping bag

So our night is finished after our shopping done. We bought so much, put all inside the bag, and we rode the metro to back to our apartment. So happy when arrived, the night is much colder that the first night we arrived, and out foot is already in auto walk mode because too much waking.
